Dash Extension Removal And Repair Assistance

Need help.

Have 2015 FR3 and need to remove the front dash piece located behind the windshield so that what ever the vinyl material was stapled to directly behind the windshield can be rebuilt.

The windshield had been leaking which is now fixed but the vinyl material at the end of the dash pad in the center is coming up. Looks like it might have been stapled to thin piece of wood that was then somehow attached to a piece of wood that is under the pad which can be seen looking up towards the dash in the engine compartment.

It anyone knows how to remove this front dash piece so what is under the vinyl material can be repaired please contact me and if anyone has actually done this repair all the advise and how to information would be greatly appreciated.

My email is ja_buyer@yahoo.com

Thank You

Angry Dashboard Wood Rotted

Has anyone else experienced the wood rot on the dashboard? I've purchased a used 2015 two years ago and this weekend I was cleaning up the inside and outside and noticed the same staples that they referenced. I felt down closer to the windshield only to find the wood is completely rotted out and needs replacement. Any suggestions on how to get this replaced or repaired?VERY FUSTRATED!!!!

Angry Dashboard Damage from water - Not a happy camper!

The windshield is dry and sealed up. The water is most likely coming from underneath from the engine compartment. This camper is a 2015 and only has just over 20K miles...I'm not a happy camper. Replaced the wood and protected the new wood with waterproofing.

Talking Dashboard Damage from water - Not a happy camper! UPDATE

So here's what I did, stripped out the old rotted wood. Used wood filler and fibers to fill in the "base" which I could not remove easily. Braced it will a flat metal bar for reinforcement. Cut a new sheet of "premium" plywood and painted it with waterproof paint. Bought new vinyl from (www.MarineVinylFabric.com) cut and stamped it same as old one. Re-installed and looks amazing. Photos below...

I'm having the same problem, don't know if it's from a windshield leak or moisture from the motor compartment. It's not as bad as others, there's no damage to the vinyl and no staples coming through. I've decided to repair from underneath. My plan is to make it watertight except leaving a small space to allow water coming down from the windshield to drain so mold won't grow.

Does anybody make these?

2015 28ds, rotted out dashboard extension, less than 10,000 miles, love to buy a replacement at a reasonable price..
