First trip almost went well

First trip to Bangor Maine from Connecticut.
I got used to driving the rig pretty quick.
Setup was a breeze with the leveling, did it manually.
On the way home, we had to bring friends home with us. 2 extra passengers and my wife was in the back playing cards. The car in front of ran over a 3"x3" chuck of metal. It looked like it was a piece of a car frame. The car ran it over and picked it up and threw it in my windshield. It hit the passenger side and send shards of glass on the seat all the way back to the kitchen sink. I'm am so happy the passengers were sitting at the table and it didn't hit the driver side.
So now to replace the windshield. In thinking maybe autolight does this? Or do i have to go to an rv dealer?

Research begins...

you mean SAFELITE - yes, any glass provided can replace a windshield, matter of fact, any dealer probably simply calls the same glass provider.

Safelite for a passenger car yes, for an RV Id locate a glass window specialist in your area that specializes or does them all the time.
On y 1st trip out I had picked up a rock that was thrown up by a road crew in Texas. When I got home to CA, I contacted a few by using YELP to get a quote. Lucky my insurance paid for 99% of the cost. Make sure to talk to the folks who plan to replace your windshield. On my 2019 FR3 there is the logo light fixture on the upper drivers side. They will need to make sure they order the sticker logo at the same time as your windshield.
Make sure they also order the right windshield. There is a part number on the passenger side lower left where you wee the MFG and Part Number. (could also be on the drivers side) Very specific to the RV (and my 2019 FR3)
Took 2 people about 2 hours to replace.

By the way this will also be a good time to run power or wires for dash cam or other 12v or video or speakers when they have this huge window out... Easy access

Advice, just make sure you ask as many shops as you can and that they are very familiar with RV windshields. Its not as easy or simple as it looks and not any ole piece of glass.

Companies like Safelite are qualified and have all the necessary means to replace windshields in many types of vehicles not just automobiles.

I love Safelite, they are fast quick and easily accessible, but

OP should absolutely make the calls 1st & research
April 2020, Safelite in Kingman, AZ and San Jose, CA straight up did not have a technician or the means to perform RV Work.. Maybe it was due to COVID and social distance I do not know... it's a minimum 2 person job.. Maybe in other areas and the OPs area is different.

Broken windshield

First of all thank you God no one got hurt and your trip had ended.
I’m glad you didn’t lose control. So so sorry you would have to go through the repairs but I’m sure it will get done well.

Thanks for the kind words. Everybody is safe at home.
I dud talk to safelite and 2 other companies. Some do it and some don't. Safelite told me they go thru Duncan. My insurance told me they do also and they know who does the better job. I'm going to see who they send me to. I'm suppose to go back to Maine next Thursday for the weekend. I don't know if I should drive it. I really don't want any spider cracks to go across the window.

Always take pictures with the button on the right side, not top, left or bottom. Send a private message if you want to know the reason why.
