Front end damage

It was bound to happen... about a fifty miles into our last trip to the Oregon coast through the "Swamp" AKA Willamette Valley... we heard a bang... like something hitting the MH...
The wife and I couldn't figure out what it was but it came from the front on the passenger side.
When I put the motorhome away it was raining heavily and I was really interested in getting out of it.
Yesterday while pulling the motorhome out to run it over to have the Fantastic Fans installed, I had some time to look over the outside of the coach... it wasn't raining at the moment.
I looked at the front of the coach over the passenger side headlight and saw a small but deep scratch.... it is almost like a gouge or something...
My mind went back to that sound on our last trip and I am certain that's where it came from.
Something must have flown up from one of the vehicles on that road that day we heard the sound.
The damage is pretty small.... (about 1'' long and like a crescent moon shape and about 1/16'' to an 1/8'' deep) I'll try to post some pictures later.

Has anyone had this happen?... what did you do about it? I probably should contact an RV repair shop to see about it.... it's completely cosmetic and there is no real damage, but the "nose piece" of the FR3 is a complete part of fiberglass... like a boat... there is no paint on it, just the fiberglass with decal stickers on it.
Anyone ever take their FR3 in for body damage like this?
Anyone know where you can guy a bra for one of these things?

Thanks
Todd

Fill the scratch and put a new decal over the damage. End of story

Slap one of those "band aid" type decals over it and go enjoy your rig.
If thats the worst that will happen in your travels, then your ahead of the game.
Seriously, a body shop for a 1 inch scratch? Heck, my Lexi would have been in a dozen times already. It's just going to "happen" from time to time. We're on the road 3-4 months a year now and having too much fun to worry bout such a small matter.

If it removed the paint, it will rust. At least sand or buff it down and put on some similar color primer. Even if you just use color matched Rust-O-Leum it will be better than nothing. If it's a small space, you can spray some into a small cap and use a very small paint brush to avoid taping and spraying, and avoid the overspray problem too. Goal is to beat the rust to the punch.

I believe the scratch is in fiberglass, rust not an issue

Make sure there are no hit and run reports for the area you heard the sound.

It was a very wet drive out to the coast, and lots of logging trucks throwing who know's what up....
Like I said, it's a small but deep 1'' gouge... If it was in a place that wasn't so "in your face"... (right above the passenger headlight) I would try to cover it with something... maybe a decal or something.
I may try to get some fiberglass filler and some touch up paint that is pretty close...

I'm wondering what others have done? Surely some of us FR3 guys have had front end damage before...

Sounds about like best plan then put a decal over it. Later RJD
