We are thinking about a trip from ; North East Ohio , to southern California. We are thinking sometime in November. We are concerned about weather issues, To winterize or not ?. Also if anyone has done this, in November and what the weather conditions, snow , temp and wind are probably on the southern route to California. Have a 2014 FR3 , 28Ds , V-10 engine. Any suggestions or comment appreciated.

Heading toward Las Vegas tomorrow but will take a couple of weeks to get there.

Living in south Florida we camp to escape the heat by going out west each summer. Grandbabies live in Vegas, so each trip takes us there for a bit.

Not looking forward to more heat tho. But Colorado after Vegas

Any suggestions on route or rv parks that are near Yosemite travel from Las Vegas. If reservations are required a year in advance that would not help.

You better hope you're lucky or someone cancels, if you are hoping for a campsite at this time of the season.
You might find something but it'll be much farther from the Park

I guarantee you that you'll not find a campsite in Yosemite or the surrounding area. They book immediately during the booking period. Depending on the route you're taking, you might want to try the Lee Vining, CA area (on Hwy 395, east side of Yosemite). Heading out of Vegas, take hwy 95 towards Tonapah. When you hit Tonapah take hwy 6 towards Bishop, CA. It's a very nice scenic drive. In Bishop you can then get onto Hwy 395. You'll go through some very nice areas (Mammoth Mtn.) and see very nice scenery. There is 1 long grade coming out of Bishop but, you should not have a problem. If you're towing, you could do day trips into Yosemite.

Good plan. 😃 Enjoy!
We'll not be that far from you (as the crow flies) next week. We're heading for Sequoia Nat'l Park this Thurs. for 10 days.

Only one RV Park in Lee Vining, Mono Vista RV Park. It was packed full when I drove by last week on my way to Bodie and back to Bishop at the end of the day. (760) 647-6401, I would call now if you have a date in mind.
