Good Morning & Key question

Have an FR3 29 DS, 2017.. Go between Abq and near Austin TX on a regular basis. Enjoy traveling with grandkids and my best friend Hawkeye. I recently had a TOAD fire and my engine keys were stored in the TOAD (I know - stupid right!! But the day before i had just gotten additional keys made in Gallup and we were working on organizing them on the way back from the Grand Canyon) and now need to replace the engine compartment key.

I'm having difficulty getting the key replacement number for the barrel engine key. Can anyone help me with the #. I can't find it in the manual I was provided. I am enjoying learning things from you all while lurking here!

Well that has to suck! Out of curiosity, what caused the fire? It is something all of us would want to avoid.

I don't know yet. The insurance company is doing an investigation to determine neglegence. When I first jumped in the car to see why it was "steaming", the parking brake was not on that I could see and it showed neutral. I've been towing the same car since 2013 with 2 different rigs over that time. Just had tires checked and an oil change. Just waiting at this point because I never want to experience this again. My 10 y.o. grandson and I got 1 pin out of tow bar. When we went round to get the other one out, the fire came out underneath and I literally took him by his shirt collar and shoved him away from the car. I used a fire Extinguisher then 4 DOT trucks came by and added more 5 extinguishers to the cause. When that didn't work, they started shoveling dirt on it. 2 of the DOT gentlemen somehow got the pin out and moved the RV. They were determined to save the RV and are my heros. If I could figure out how to post pictures from my gallery on here, I would share. If I find out what happened, I will be happy to share as I hope and wish that others don't have to have this experience. I know this is probably more than you wanted to know!!!

Wow! I can't even imagine having to deal with something like that. I'm so glad that you and your grandson weren't injured!

Not sure what a barrel engine key is, but have you considered calling a locksmith? Some roadside assistance programs will pay for a locksmith.

Glad everyone is ok.
