Home Theater for 30DS and Larger TV

Hello Everyone,

I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to put a larger TV (40" at least) into my 30DS. I'm hoping to replace the existing 32" TV with a 40" or larger Samsung, but not sure how to proceed.

Also would like to install a 5.1 Surround System with three Zones - 5.1 inside, 2 channels outside, another 2 channels in the bedroom. I have a Furrion DV1200, it is three zones, but only two channels. I was thinking of going with an iRV iRV66 DVD (it's 12v) or a maybe a 120V Marantz NR1504 to get 5.1 and multiple zones.

If anybody out there as done this, I would appreciate your thoughts.

The 2017 FR3 30DS has a larger 39" TV. However, the swing-out mount was removed and, instead, a swing-up mount replaced it. My suspicion is that the larger TV was a bit too heavy for swing-out mounting so they went to the swing-up. Just something to think about...

My iRV66 (along with a 42" LG television) that came in my 8529IKBS performs just as you are wanting.

Sounds Great... I can install the iRV66, just not sure how to install the TV.

Thank you... I think I'll start with the iRV66..

Hi Theo, Thank you for the reply, appreciate it.

My unit has a 32" TV in a swing-up mount. Don't think it will fit a larger TV. I'll check with the dealer and see if they changed the mount. I could live with a 39" - 32" is just to small.

Hi Theo,

I just reviewed your previous post about the 2017 unit. - "The main TV has been upgraded to a 39" size. Unfortunately, this has eliminated the cabinet to its right. Also, the TV does not swing out, it swings up. That means it really can't be viewed from the cockpit passenger's seat. Behind the TV is a 12V connection and a cable connection for satellite tv."

I see that they've changed that at the expense of some storage space. Oh well - I'll figure something out. Thanks again for the information.

Something's to think about in swapping tvs
## my large Furrion TV went kaput. Measured for a Samsung 40". 1) had to drill swing out bracket to match location of Samsung holes. 2) had to go find bolts to secure tv to bracket. Needing the metric with the correct threads and length and will I need spacers 3) jacks and coax on tv in different location therefore "wires" don t exact run the same way and are a tad shy for a full swing out. 4) and perhaps most importantly location of speakers - are they exposed on bottom or from back of tv. There's a lot to consider for any tv swap-out
Good luck

Swap TV's

Hello TwoClaws,

Just typed this all out and it disappeared, so will try again.

Looks like I might have a different setup than yours. Mine opens up to display a cabinet in behind. The TV and opening on the bracket is 29" X 18 = 32 inch TV.

The Samsung 40" is 36" X 21". So if I use spacers and cut back the cabinets it might work. I's attached some pictures so you can see what I mean. Any thoughts appreciated.
