Just brought home the new FR3 25 2015

I am a new RV owner and just brought home the big girl last night. Have the vespa mounted on back and she is ready for her maiden voyage.

Be prepared to get stopped by neighbors and strangers alike who will ooh and ahh and ask questions and think you must have have won the lottery to have such a beautiful coach.

Congratulations

You will love it. We just completed a 5560 mile round trip from New Jersey to Arizona via Texas.

Lots of fun and no serious problems. The MH met all expectations!

OOOOHH...Congrats & enjoy! Lemme see how you have the Vespa carried. I'm gonna be carrying an Lx150 and a Stella on a double Versahaul setup if all goes well with the hitch guy.
Have fun cruising & scooting!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Great weekend! The 25 is a joy to drive and camp in. Everyone's great advice and suggestions were worth their weight in gold. We felt like old pro's, never owning an RV prior to this one. Thanks again and look forward to many more adventures.

We got one of the cheaper single carriers for our LX150. I would recommend a set of Canyon Dancers for the front, the back end i just used a couple of ratchet straps. Safe and sound both ways.

Question on the king bed in your FR3 25 2015. Does it fold up when the slide is in or does it come in flat? Can you (or anyone that has one) post a picture of it with the slides in?

Thanks!

It does fold at a 60/40 split

If the short end of the mattress is at the foot it will flop up and fold over.
It you rotate and put the short end of the mattress at the head you will need to fold it and push mattress in before bringing in the slide. This way you can put the short end against the headboard and get a coach or smaller bed while the slide is in.

The couch option does not work for us

I think that the couch option only works if you have a fairly thin mattress. The older models had about a 4" mattress that folded in a few places. Our newer one has a thick mattress and while it has a 60/40 split, if you try to make it into a couch as you slide in the slide, it's too thick to be able to sit upright against the headboard and clear the window coverings easily.

The benefits of the thin mattress are having a couch to chill on with the slide in, but the benefit of the thick mattress is, well, having a thicker mattress.

We have the 40 part at the bottom and fold it up before pulling the slide in. I'd take a picture for you, but the RV is still at the dealer waiting on repairs.

Our 2014 25DS has the thinner mattress. We added a 4" topper and it sleeps great. We have to pre fold it out of the way to bring in the slide but I like to make sure the end of the bed folds down properly as I think this may be why so many have had slide issues. Doesnt take much to get the fold down end of the bed to hang up.
