Location of fuse for passenger dash cigarette lighter:

I successfully have blown the fuse on both dash cigarette power outlets. I know the driver side outlet is a 20 amp fuse located in the engine compartment (number 22) per the Ford F53 owners manual. I’ll pickup a new fuse tomorrow. I have no idea where the passenger power outlet fuse is located. We are currently 1,300 miles from home and looking for help. Thank you.

Just looked at mine and there is a 7.5 Amp fuse under the dash just sitting loosely on the board. There is also a 2nd 7.5 Amp fuse which is probably for the drivers side, but could not easily follow the wire back to the Aux. Power Outlet.

I blew the fuses on both 12 volt outlets in the dash also with my Garmin RV 770. I opened the dash (6 screws) to find the fuses. They are two 7.5A inline fuses.

I tighten-up the both outer-casings that were loose. I hope that is the reason the fuses blew. I also think 7.5A is to small for a 12 volt outlet. I replaced it with a 15A fuses as they are on a 12 AWG wire.

There was a thread on this very subject started 9/12/18. We had a similar problem with both dash outlets blowing due to our fast phone chargers on Samsung Galaxy s8 phones apparently drawing too much juice (?). Here is a link to the older thread, hope this works!

I keep blowing the inline fuse on drivers side using the Garmin GPS. Not sure why they blow, seems random, but I did wonder if it was when I hit a bump in road.

Anyway I would suggest you pull out dash (six screws) find the inline fuse and untangle and stretch the wires so the fuse can be reached from under the dash. I relocated mine so it is easy to locate and bought a box of 15 amp fuses. Have replaced many so far. Must be the GPS unit as passenger side, wife's cellphone etc. has not blow a fuse yet. Pain in the neck but the only other thing to do is put in a heavier fuse which I am not comfortable doing.
