Mattress Upgrade

Our mattress in our 2017 29DS is as hard as a rock, I have seen that some owners replaced it with a sleep number bed. Is that possible in our motorhome since the mattress folds up on the bottom to accommodate the slide.

Bed

Sleep # beds have a solid frame. So unless you want to take it apart every time it would not work. I have just added a padded mattress topper and it works fine. Also a lot cheaper.

Also use a mattress topper (memory foam), works great.

Mine doesn't. It's all foam and air mattresses.

We also added a memory foam mattress topper to our queen bed. Bought at Costco.

You finally got rid of that mattress you stole from the dumpster when they replaced our mattress in 2013?

Luannr,

I hear your issue. We slept on the mattress that came with our first trailer exactly 5 nights before we decided that it had to go.

We won an 11" Denver mattress at the Goshen rally in 2013 and have enjoyed a great night's sleep while traveling ever since.

I warn though, you should have seen the dumpster divers fighting over the old mattress at Goshen, This mattress issue must be a bigger problem than everyone thought.

Good luck on your search

I guess a mattress topper is my only option then since the bottom of the bed has to fold up to put the slide in, I wish they would have put a queen bed with some room on the sides instead of the King bed, it's so darn hard to get in it.

Look under and see if you can cut the base down.

Or, remodel the thing and make it a queen. I hate king beds.
