Move slideout out with broken motor/gear box

So, I recently replaced a motor/gear box. It was tough but very doable because the slide was out. Being out, I was able to access the area to work on.

What to do when the slides are in and the motor/gear box needs work? There is literally a 3' stretch on top of the slide to reach that area.

How can you get the slide back out to access the area?

Has anyone had to do this?

Thanks.

Ive done it. Our dining room slide on our 25DS went out with slide fully in. Its possible but very hard because you have to work in the small space between the slide and roof. Im thin enough i was able to do it....much profanity was involved. Got the new motor / transmission in and adjusted enough to pull the slide out some to make proper adjustments easier.

Had to do the bedroom slide later that year but happened in out position so was not nearly as bad. Although being behind the false back in the over bed cabinets was very similar.

They have worked perfectly since. This was 2015.
