My Lithium Upgrade 2018 Forest River FR3 30DS

Ok Boys/Gals... This is my Lithium upgrade. Good or Bad, here it is...

Objective: To install the lithium battery, Lithium Battery Isolation Manager, and Lithium Converter in our 2018 Forest River FR3 30DS.

Battery: EPOCH 460 https://www.epochbatteries.com/produ...-victron-comms

Size and location: The battery box was modified to fit the larger 460ah battery in the coach battery location. We modified the back wall to accept the extra length.

Wiring: RV Custom Products SDC-107 Battery Control Center https://rvcustomproducts.com/sdc-107a
The battery is also 12V and a Lithium Battery Isolation Manager LI-BIM 225 was installed.
Anyone needing the older 12V distribution manufacturer has a tech support that can explain this process better. We candidly by-passed and used their connections to incorporate the BIM 225.

This should be the easiest to swap and is in the left rear compartment. There are instructions on setting it up for Lithium and is a matter of changing a slide LED to a certain color (Blue) by pressing a button with a pin tool on the side for three seconds until the correct color appears.

We installed a new 30amp 12v connection for a inverter than can run our Starlink system. Anyway, it can be done and hope this helps.

BTW, no solar yet but that is phase 2.

I have been on Lithium since 2018.

I modified my SDC-107A BCC for Battle Born Lithium batteries in 2019.
How to adjust SDC-107A BCC for Battle Born batteries

I moved my negative chassis battery wires to a Victron BMV-712 shunt. The positive battery chassis cable goes to 500a switch & a Red bus bar.

So awesome! I haven't had to plug it into 110V since I installed it.

I only plugin at home to run the AC & keep the batteries ready for the next trip.
