Oil Change
When changing oil on your motorhome has the design of the oil fill ever spun you in enough rage to grab a hole saw and drill through the dash so you can add oil without making such a huge mess? Joking I did not, but what a poorly thought out design.

Absolutely! I fight this each time I change my oil. If anyone has a clever way to add oil to the FR3 I'd like to know it.

Haha glad it’s not just me! I’m sure transfer pump would do it, I have just never tried it. I would rather just make a mess and gripe about the design haha

I don't have an FR3 but have serviced numerous vehicles/engines with difficult oil fill ports.
Usually a funnel originally designed to add oil to automatic transmissions worked well.
One can tailor make a funnel in many cases by just adding a piece of Vinyl hose that will fit over spout and into oil fill.

I have a "might work " different application funnel. The top is almost the same shape as a quart can, the tube, about 18", is accordioned and the nozzle tapers. This is one of the "been around forever " items so I don't know the source, wally world or tractor supply would be the only guesses.

Red plastic longer and larger spout, top of funnel is a cylinder so you can pour more into then spill more down your front when it slips.

We own a 2016 fr3 30ds, i change our oil all the time. I uses the old style small long neck quart bottles to pour the oil in. I just keep a couple of these empty and fill them with a 5 quart jug and then pour them in the fill neck. You can tip the quart bottle upside down into the fill neck. No spilling at all.

I place large square drip pan on the ground
Large capacity oil pan to catch my oil on the pan if I spill.
I also have a Fumoto Valve that makes draining the oil a snap.
I use a piece of cardboard to funnel the Oil Filter drain, cant avoid the cross member.
spin on a new filter and use that funnel to add the oil. very little mess if any.

I have done all the maintenance on all my cars since being in high school in the late 70's. Wanted Ford to look at a couple things before going into storage so let them change the oil while it was there. Only charged $60 which I felt was pretty fair. It would probably cost close to $50 doing it yourself. For 10 bucks and no hassle no cleanup it was actually very nice to not mess with it.
A nice Bar-B-Q next door and an hour of my time and back on the road.

X2! I stopped changing the oil in our rigs 25 years ago. Got tired of the mess and hauling waste oil, along with expired DEXCOOL into town for disposal. Having "the guy" do it is a convenience I'll gladly pay for.

It's only $82 for a synthetic oil change, filter and lube in Northern Illinois. Not worth my time, trouble or mess to do at home.
