Recommended campgrounds in Utah

We will be heading to Utah to check out some of the national parks in Utah mid June, would like to find a couple campgrounds somewhere in between the parks so we could make day trips from one or two locations. Any of you have some recommendations?

I can only recommend two:
Spanish Trail in Moab
KOA Downtown(ish) Salt Lake City

We stayed at the KOA campground in Green River UT, about a 4 miles off of I70. This park was will recommend by RV PARK REVIEWS. The owners are on site and maintain the campground and is quite at night.

Dead Horse Point State Park outside Canyonlands (short drive to Arches). Kodachrome Basin State Park outside Bryce NP.

We have 5 national parks here in Utah. Are you interested in the parks in the southeast or the southwestern part?

Where ever you plan to stop you had better be making reservations NOW. I have a feeling it will be a busy summer.

We loved the campground in Red Rock Canyon. No hookups but a nice location with a fantastic hiking trail from it and close to a bike path.

Hi, We stayed at Archview, just outside Moab. Nice park and close to Arches, Dead Horse Point state park (don't miss the views there) and Canyonlands. Nice park and reasonable for us. Moab is kinda of neat to walk around in too. Bauer's canyon ranch in Glendale Ut. is about halfway between Bryce and Zion, making both a reasonable day trip. It's a GoodSam park, I can't remember about Archview. Another post recommended getting reservations-very good advice, especially with all the Utah promos on TV this year. We used a mobile app called "RV Parky" and fount it to be quite helpful.

I stayed at Slickrock several years ago and was happy. It's on the main road. VERY easy to get to Canyonlands and Arches NPs.

I'll put in a plug for everyone to try to use this site wherever you camp. It is an incredibly helpful tool when you can get a LOT of feedback on the places you are considering.

Mt wife and I simply love visiting Utah, and the five great National Parks. Zion River RV Park just outside Zion NP is a first-class RV park with full hookups, nice level sites, mostly pull-throughs, and extremely helpful staff. From there you can tour Zion easily. It is also an easy day-trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and, on another day, you can visit Bryce and Cedar Breaks.

In central Utah we have stayed at Shady Acres RV Park in Green River. Just off the I-70, it is quiet, family friendly, and within an easy drive to both Arches and Canyonlands. On the day we trekked to Arches, we headed East on I-70 to S.R. 128, then SW along the Colorado River into Moab. One of the most spectacular drives ever!! Especially in the morning with the sun behind us lighting up the red rock canyons!! Plan to spend a couple of days at Zion, and at least a full day at each of Arches and Canyonlands.

We also took SR 128 off of I-70 when we came from Colorado. That is certainly a beautiful drive down the canyon along the Colorado River. I didn't have an RV back then and we went to Arches (in late September) but DW can't walk very far and I couldn't find a handicap parking spot or any other place to park that day. The number of people there was unbelievable. In order to see the Arches up close you have to get out and walk a short distance from the road so we missed a lot of scenery.

We went in June a few years ago. Be aware that it can get pretty hot in southern Utah in June. We tried to go to the parks early and then headed up to the mountains and camped in the cool.

Well if you make it to Moab, I'd say for sure you don't want to miss seeing Dead Horse State Park! It's our favorite State Park in Utah! We generally stay in the Portal RV Park on the Northern end of town. Archview is used pretty heavily by OHV's and can get a tad dusty. Temperature wise, Bryce Canyon would be perfect in June! Utah is the most beautiful place I've ever lived in!
