Refrigerator Works on Gas Only

Hi,
I have a 2014 Forest River FR3 30D.

My fridge cools fine on gas but does not work on electric. Here are some notes:
1. All other electrical works fine. I have reset all breakers in the breaker box.
2. The RV is mostly level. Just slightly off level.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to troubleshoot further? Are there any specific fuses I should check?

Did you check all of your GFCI circuits?

I checked the GFCI outlet in the bathroom and it is fine.

The fridge is Dometic. Model Number: DM2653

Be sure to check for power on the outlet that the fridge is plugged into.

Thanks. I checked and there are 118 volts at the outlet that the fridge is plugged in to.

Check fuse on control board in outside cover or vent. One fuse for gas & one fuse for electric

Just had the same thing happen to me. Pull the plastic cover off of the circuit board is located on the outside. Check the two fuses. If they're both good, replace the circuit board. About $90. I had to replace mine.

Had the exact problem with my XLR. Similar fridge. Replaced the thermistor and added a fan. Not it. Finally replaced the heating element. On electric now it gets in the high 30s and stays there. Easy job. All kinds of u-tube videos on installation. I think the element on Amazon was under 30 bucks. Good luck.

It could be the fuse, that is the easiest and least expensive to repair.

It could be the heating element. If you have a multimeter an open infinite resistance tells you the heating element is burnt. Not difficult to repair and next to the fuse, the second least expensive.

It could be the board. Again if you have a multimeter call the tech guys at Dinosaure Electronics. Dinosaur customer service page

They can help you troubleshoot the board and have replacements that are superior to the factory boards (and less expensive) if that is the problem. They will talk you through all you need to know to test and if necessary replace the board.
