Remote Door Locks

Wondering if any of you have installed one of the key pad or remote fob door locks. I like the idea of never worrying about being locked out, and the install looks easy, but dang they are bit pricey. I ran across this review of the different units.https://www.rvweb.net/best-rv-door-locks-reviewed/

I installed an RVLock on my 2019 33DS, id recommend the same. However in my case it was not a simple removal of the old in insert the new. Not all FR3 are build identical as we all know, and i had to file down the lock opening on the door and the metal deadbolt slot. Just be prepared to spend some time measuring, filing or removing some door material. It also means you're committed as the old lock will not be able to be reinstalled.. Even with these known.. RVLock is the way to go. just be patent, tape things off, measure & install.

My RV lock just bolted on and we love it, no problems in our first year.

We've had our RvLock for 2 years. It's one of our favorite mods. I don't think we've used a door key since we installed it. Install is easy!

Master Key?

One reason I want to replace my lock is I have been told there are master keys to the factory lock that dealers use. So that got me thinking, I wonder if those locks in the RvLock can still be opened with a master key?

There IS a RVLock master key. They had one at my dealer when we brought ours in for warranty service. However, it didn’t work reliably for them so I left them one of my extra keys so they wouldn’t break my lock when going in to work on it.

I purchased a RVLock Keyless Class C/A Entry Handle and eleven Black RVLock Key Cylinder Latches for Compartment/Baggage doors. All were keyed alike. I have a dozen spare keys. I have a small key ring that I use when I go outside to open the baggage doors.

I love my RVLock.

installed our new RVLock over the weekend, love it already. Did take some small cutting to the fiberglass outer to make it fit properly.
