We drove an hour to look at a used 2016 FR3 30DS with 28k miles on it, and were disappointed - it wasn't in quite as good a condition as we had hoped, after staring at the pics for a few hours the past week. The windshield had a large crack on the passenger side, and the owners had a pet - the engine cover was heavily scarred, and some of the seat cushions were damaged.

Anyone know an approximate cost of replacing that big windshield, and what it might cost to re-upholster the sofa and forward seats?

be prepared to pay at least $1,800 - $2,000 for a installed windshield at least in California.. big curved windshield....

the windshield cost can depend on if you are going to do it out of pocket or pay the deductible from insurance. seat cushions is a broad term the cost depends on what you are referring to if its a drivers seat can be expensive if it a sofa not so much so.

The quote for windshield + installation came to $2500.

THOSE ITEMS sound cosmetic to me and can be easily fixed... how are the mechanicals? Tires, engine, body and frame integrity?

Lack of storage space in the kitchen turned my wife against it.

I was ready to have Lemon Busters (mechanics who inspect used vehicles pre-sale) come check it. But after a weekend of thought and discussion, DW just wasn't excited about it.

So - she likes the floor plans and storage seen in the Winnebago Vista 32YE, and the Coachman 31TS. Once some used versions of those get down to our price point, we'll take another look.

In the meantime, going forward with adding a second AC to the 8280WS and reflooring the living room with vinyl. (Cheap carpets in those Rockwoods, wear out fast)
