Satellite Receiver - Where to put one?

Bought my 2015 FR3 30DS back in August. Want to get a Dish tailgater and receiver, but am stumped as to where to put the receiver. Plenty of room in the space behind the main TV, but I would assume that the remote ain't gonna work thru the TV to control the receiver.

I built a little shelf to mount under the main TV cabinet to hold a Dish 211z receiver, but now I'm wondering if anyone here has added a receiver, where did you put it?

I have a Winegard RT4000T RoadTrip Mission In-Motion Satellite TV Antenna and mounted my Dish 211z in the cabinet behind the tv, solved the issue with the remote by purchasing the "Next Generation Remote Control Extender"from Amazon for less than $40. This allows me to use the 211z remote even with the door closed. Also worked for me from outside the unit under the canopy. I have both the TV's (outside and Kitchen) on the same receiver.

Link for ir extender?

Op, my previous receiver was mounted in the basement it was a uhf unit so remote didn't need to "see" receiver.
As you I now have a 211z so looking into a IR extender such as the 2nd poster suggested.

Unfortunately I don't have any room to install mine even close to the tv.the shelf under tv is about 6" in depth and the cabinet above and below is the same.

receiver

mounted mine in cubby hole to side of doorway next to out side door. I have to hold remote over to the left side of sofa, but works. That remote is light operated, but plan to get a raf remote from direct tv and it is not line of site, they are sending me one free of charge. Looks good where it is mounted and take up very little room.
