Shakedown cruise

Just replaced our Sunseeker with an FR3.

On our shakedown trip now. Have already identified and corrected some quality control issues such as virtually every little black screw on the overhead bunk falling out on my head as I hit the first bump!!!!!

One item I haven't figured out is how to turn the drivers' seat around to face the living area. I know it can be done as I sat in the seat in the reverse
position at the RV show in Hershey will negotiating the purchase.

Thanks in advance

FR3 vs 3100ss

in response to your question I would say there are features of both that we like and dislike.

Keep in mind you are comparing an class A to a class B

1. the ss had more standard features eg, inverter, fantastic fan, gas/electric water heater to name a few.
2. the FR drives much better, is much more quiet and is much roomier. Plus the panoramic driving view a class A affords.
3. the hydraulic leveling feature on the FR is great.
4. the tv and entertainment system is much better on the FR.
5. the dinette on the FR is roomier at the expense of the table being smaller.
the smaller table is fine for us.

Overall we like the fr much more for our use although Forest River could do a much better quality control job on the fit and finish of both units.

Hope this helps

Our screws fell out too but some Elmer's wood glue and a few toothpicks solved the problem. It's an old trick for screw coming lose but it worked great. Rode on some rally rough roads with no problems.

Loose screws

Jersey guy,

Thanks for the tip, I pretty much did the same thing and it worked well.

Nothing else major ......a few loose drawer bottoms that I have repaired.

A loose and flapping windshield gasket.

What other items have you found?

I laugh every time I look at the sticker on the windshield that says "ok to ship"!!

FR could do a much better job of quality control.

Over all though we love our FR3!!!!!

@branchman. Have you figured out how to rotate the seats? If not, there should be a lever under the right hand side of the seat. If there's not, I'd be calling someone.

How do you reinforce the drawer bottoms? I have had my 2014 Fr3 a year and definitely need to figure this out. Can the drawers be removed to work on them?

Yes. You can remove the drawers. You open and then lift up on the front, pull and they should come out. I've seen some drawers that have a clasp that needs lifting to remove.
