slide out awning parts

Had a limb hit the bedroom slide out awning. It bent a part of the awning that looks like a sling shot handle. I can find the part online but not anything on what it does or what it is for. It's on one end of the roller bar. I don't want to move the slide unless I know what will happen. Anybody know?
It's a 2019 FR3 33ds.

Finally someone who has the exact 33DS I do!
Anyway to your question. Your unit is still very new - I would give Forrest River a call an talk to your Warranty Rep. While Im sure they wont replace it since it is not their fault they would be able to give you direction. to LCI or whomever the slide unit is made by & you can contact them for spare parts.

Ive had very good relationship with the West Coast Rep and he has helped me tremendously.
