Slide Outs

I just bought 2018 FR3 30DS. I always camp off the grid and concerned about being able to retract slides if they wont retract. How do you manually retract them?

Depends on what brand and model of slideout you have.

your manual should tell you that it really depends on if it's hydraulic or gear drive electric that's why it's hard to answer

If you have the cable sides like mine, the motor is centered behind the wood molding above the slide. In my bedroom is in the back of cabinets above the bed. Neither one is easy to get to.

If you can start the engine, you can feed power back to the house batteries with the emergency start button. You would then be able to start the generator.

If your problem is cables...............

Fr3 slide

When you bought fr3 there should be a crome long tool with hex on one end an drill bit on other end and is flex able in center ( 12inch long). When slide wouldn't move you get drill and this tool and place tool in back of slide motor. On end of slide motor rubber plug remove ,insert tool an drill motor , run drill will retract or push out slide ,must be a reversible drill. PS ITS A REAL PAIN TO GET AT MOTOR its on top of slide on inside center must remove wood covering. check on line there are videos. good luck.

Very smart to familiarize yourself with it especially boondocking. Perhaps even buy a spare motor...

Attached is the service manual for your slide...

Without checking does anybody know if the two slide outs use the same motor for 30ds, thinking about the idea of a spare. Also any idea on part #. I will look in the manual for ea question but was just wondering if others have thought this thru
