May I ask what the "drivability" issues were with your FR3?

Did ok on the sale, took it to an auction, gone !
Besides not driving that great, we used it as a traveling mh, not a camper, only spending about 4 weeks a year in it, but driving 7500 miles/yr
Drivability sucked! Could not drive that fast, trucks pushed it all over the road, etc
I did the cheap handling trick ( worked a bit ), put on large sway bars both front and rear & steering control arm ( these last 2 items really help )
Now have a thor 23TR, smaller, faster, much better handling

I can’t fault your decision, the usage scenario - Maine to California and back every couple of years also makes our usage more traveling than camping, and it’s definitely not the fastest ship.

To solve that, we tried the banks muffler and cold air system, and the v10 sings like a stock car on Saturday night! But a big fat fail - still not fast or faster than stock, just sounds like it’s hauling ass.

Suspension ride is more bread truck than anything else. After driving our late model Volvo, the FR3 is a Conestoga wagon.

With only 14000 miles since 2014, not sure if the reward/ cost ratio on a IFS custom chassis is in the cards for us.

Everyone says no matter how much $$$$ you throw at a f53, it’s still a bread truck.

No one I have seen has tried the more-ryde spring/rubber taxi/fleet system, would really like to know if it is the magic silver bullet.

Not real hopeful it is the answer.

Glad to see other approaches(Thor et al), just over the horizon (5 to 10 years) of electrification will make the 19th century f53 chassis design less than optimum for anything drivable.
