Steps problems

I went out over the weekend and had no problems with my steps, I got home and the steps motor runs but the steps just seem to fall out and stop not going out all the way. When I close the door the steps don’t retract but the motor runs. I don’t know what happened but from looking around the forum I’m thinking the gears have stripped. Does anyone have any other ideas before I start taking things apart.

Thank you in advance….

The motor gears will strip out at times. Ours did this last year and i just replaced the gear set. amazon sells the gear set for about 26.00. The number is URO RV 25 series 676061 repair kit. They also sell a complete motor assy.
Hope this helps.

We eventually had to replace the electric steps on our 2010 Georgetown after almost 10 years.

Biggest tip I can suggest…….be absolutely sure the steps have fully deployed BEFORE stepping onto them when exiting or entering the motorhome. Placing any weight on them while they’re still in motion CANNOT BE A GOOD THING.
