Both crown molding trim boards installed. The access hole is now hidden.

I still need to pin nail the bottom trim but it is go enough for another trip or two before winterizing.

Robert,

Since you mentioned that you were in your driveway, I thought I should share our experience...

When we first brought our new FR3 home as newbie RVers, we parked it in our driveway, and put out the slides. When it came time to leave, the bedroom slide came in fine, but the living room slide was unresponsive.

I called Coach-Net, and they pointed me to a circuit breaker in the house-battery compartment that had tripped, and that fixed the problem.

But when Coach-Net heard that we were parked in our driveway, they said that we should never try to operate the slides unless we are completely level.

I'd had both of my 30DS slide gear boxes and motors replaced. Ugh.

Have also noticed... sometimes my slides click if only running on battery power. Plugging the RV into shore power (or running the generator) have allowed the slides to move in/out. Good luck.

I have a concrete driveway that is almost level and I deploy the leveling system before opening the slides. I need the slides out get to the closets in bedroom and the kitchen cabinets. I can not pack for a trip with the slides in.

Lowes has a Dewalt 90 degree flex driver for $35. It maybe easier to get to the motor with the 90 degree flex shaft than with a straight flex. I can make a motor access hole under the first layer of crown moulding.
Just wanted to add Forest River is sending me the missing flex shaft.

slide issue

Before you start changing slide motors or connections, check to make sure it isn't a slide module. Not knowing where yours is, I can't address the ease of checking. I can only say that my slide module went away last yr but as it turns out, on the face of the module, it gives specific instrux on how to bypass the module. Doing so will allow the slide to easily come in, or go out. Seems to me the module was/is made by Lippert(?) Just an idea

The IN & OUT relays were clicking and providing power to the motor wires. The wire was not crimped on the bare copper. Instead it was crimped on the wire insulation.

I have a loose wire somewhere between the motor and the relays.

I was frustrated. I knew it was not the motor or gears, but on the surface the wires looked fine.

As a DIY addict, I was determined to not have to pay someone to fix it. I almost purchased an extended warranty, but decided it was not worth it.

I have a Georgetown XL 369ds and mine also did this. All fuses and breakers were good. Solution was as wife pressed the switch I saw a spark at the connection. Removed the factory connections and relaced with wire nuts and slide works fine. Seems the vibration of travel on the connections will loosen them and poorly krempted from the factory.

I think the FR was trying to color code the wires but the yellow connector was to large for the 14 awg motor wire.

slides run when do one is in the rv..cocked jammed slide at 20degrees

Three times my left hand large slide has activated and one motor has started to move the slide out until it jammed and tore up the inside trim and bent the front wall on the outside.
the first time was when it was in the shop and it opened the st hlide into a post and broke a window. the shop thought someone had move the slide so they ordered a new window (in 2020 took 6 months) while the window was being ordered the rv was parked and the slide opened and tore up the trim and damage the outside metal. The shop was calling it the "ghost" RV . they readjusted the stops and fixed the damages thinking it must have been someone getting in the
RV even though the keys were locked up in the office. After "fixing" it the second time they were glad for me to come get it....Now at my house one motor has decided to move again and cocked the slide ...trim inside knocked off in the back and the front outside metal in now bent.......
by the way the slide in and out buttons had stopped working and you could not go through the reset procedure to reset the in and out stop locations.
Anybody experience this .....Last time I talked to Forest River/Dynamax about this I don't believe they either cared or believed me...but after three time I think something needs to be done.

Manual slide

If you disconnect & remove the slide motor, is it possible to manually push the slide in & out?

Are you asking about a slide system exactly like the one this thread was started about many years ago?

Not all slide systems are the same so unless you are piggybacking onto this thread and have the exact same slide system, we could possibly give you irrelevant information.

It would help other FR3 owners if you posted what year, make and model number of FR3 you're asking about. Or put that information in your profile or signature.

No.

There is eight cables on the slide, Four IN & four OUT. The slide motor shaft is part of the gear box.

The manual override is to use a flexible shaft inserted into the end of the slide motor to move slide in or out.
