Tire Replacement (Goodyear vs Michelin)

I am looking to replace the tires on our 2016 FR3 30DS. The Ford Chassis is a 2015 model year. The RV has 35,000 miles and the wear I believe has been OK with some tires wearing better than others. The issue is we plan to make a 10,000 mile trip from Michigan to the west coast through Canada and don’t want any tire problems along the way. If we were just using the FR3 in the local area I would wait on buying new tires since there is on the average 5/32 tread remaining. I’m looking for input from those that might have gotten new tires. A few places I have call say they don’t balance the tires, is that right ? I am leaning to replace with Goodyear tires since the original tires on the 2015 F53 Chassis were Goodyear but Michelin also has a RV 245/70R19.5 G rated tire. Thank you in advance for your input. Jim

After 2-3 years with good tread left I think it's premature to replace them. Anyway Michelins are great tires.

Hey Jim,

I replaced my steering tires on my 2015 DS30 with 24570R19.5
H Michelin XZE's. After 11,000 miles on them they still look new. And no, they do not balance them, at least at my shop which is a commercial truck center. They use two products to produce a balanced tire while driving. Click image for larger version

Counteract was the one they threw into my set.

I would go with Michelin. Softer ride and longer life.
Always used them on my F350 and 5th wheel with no problems. Will replace my Gooyears with Michelin when time comes
