TriMark Entrance Lock Saved the Day
Well, for those out there that have to store your RV in a somewhat public storage facility like I do, I hope you don't have to experience what we did a few nights ago. We received a call late yesterday afternoon that someone had cut a hole in the perimeter fence at the storage facility the night before and vandalized a number of RVs. Ours was one of the Units they attempted to gain access to. Fortunately, the TriMark Latch/Lock System did its JOB! As you can see in the pictures, the vandals attempted to pry open the door and break the Lock. Neither of the locking mechanisms broke, not matter how much they tried. A true testament to the strength and quality of the TriMark product!
Unfortunately, the 5'er (a Raptor) sitting next to our FR3 wasn't as lucky. They were able to break in the main entrance door and stole the refrigerator, stove, and microwave. We feel very blessed that the TriMark Locks kept them out of our FR3.
Sorry for the picture orientation. Someday I'll learn how to get it right!

Thats too bad about the damage to your RV. If they had gained entry you can bet the damage and replacement cost to the inside would have been significantly more. Thousands of dollars worth of damage for a few hundred dollars of stolen stuff to sell on the net. Sad. Hope the repairs are taken care of soon.

Sounds like they were specifically targeting RV's? What are they stealing? The appliances? Most of the LCD TV's are RV specific brands and not exactly something you would think they could sell quick/cheap in general.

Sorry to see this happen. Glad the lock held. Hopefully you can get this repaired locally in time for camping season.

The Sheriff's Deputy suspects it was the work of some potheads looking for something they could take to the scrap yard and get a few bucks. Unfortunately, RVs stick out like a big sore thumb!

Already got the Insurance Adjuster scheduled and a repair quote from our Dealer. It may dampen our plans for a March trip, but shouldn't impact our trip in April to Pensacola! We've had good luck so far in getting things turned around quickly. Fingers Crossed!!

Glad you are on the ball and getting this repaired quickly. The crooks are not very smart. You would think they would pry open a window and unlock the door. Thank goodness they aren't thinking. See you down the road.

Very sorry about all the damage. There is nothing worse than thieves. I know someday they will get their karma. My Isata 3 has the exact same trimark lock system so that is the only good thing to know, thanks for sharing the pictures.

It's a good thing the crooks don't read the forum. There's lots of info in the various threads to help them break in.

Last September, the FR OEM door lock latch broke when I closed the door. My DW was inside and I was outside and the door couldn't be opened. I got back into the rv using the emergency exit then spent a few hours with a dremmel tool with a carbide tip grinding away the inside portion of the lock to get at the spring latch.
I finally was able to pull the latch back and locked it into place with a small screw. The remainder of the trip was completed using the deadbolt to keep the door closed.
I replaced the FR lock with a Trimark one. It was a good fit and, the Trimark key system eliminates FR's 1 of 6 keys to open the spring latch. I'm glad to see that my replacement lock is also much stronger than the OEM unit.
I believe that the OEM lock broke because the spring latch and its enclosing box is cast zinc. It's metal but not that strong. Fortunately for me, it was easy to grind away the zinc casing.

I got hit late last year. Had one full and one empty Propane tank. Suckers took the full one !! They wanted it to cook meth I was told by the Sheriff. They came in to the storage lot from the woods where they have a trash camper stowed away in the woods. And, some campers do have Sony or Samsung TV's. My 5'er has two Sony installed from the factory.
