Tv while driving

My wife and I are exploring our first MH. The FR3 is very high on our list. The big thing we cannot find is if the TV will operate while driving without the generator. Any info would be helpful.

Yes indeed it will operate while driving as long as you have your generator running. Using the amplified rooftop antenna may or may not bring in a broadcast signal depending on your location. However watching DVDs is a sure thing.

I could be wrong, but I think your inverter could handle the TV until the batteries died. Then your generator may kick in automatically if the FR is setup with that.

The main thing for us is the DVD for the little ones. I would also like to give them the option to play their game system as we go down the road.

I believe you are referring to the 12 volt TV of MH so you are either going to have to run generator, use 12v inverter or have one VERY!!!! long extension cord to plug shore power cord into.If you are going to use game system it would be easiest to just run gen set while driving.

If you're going to run a game system, you'll probably need 110V power. This will be either from an inverter (powered by the batteries) or from running the generator.

If you have a 12v TV, then yep, you can run it without the generator. It runs off the batteries. If you don't have a 12v TV, then like the game system, you need either use an inverter or to run the generator.

Sounds like running the gen for 110 power is the norm.

Installing an inverter is your best bet.

Guess what ? all led TV's are 12 volt hooked up to a 110 power supply! So an inverter will certainly work and with very low power draw from batteries! I did not know this until a friend of mine and electronics person demonstrated it for me- it is actually possible to hook the led tv straight to 12volts with a small wiring fix, but isn't necessary with a small inverter.
