Toad details

We love towing our Ford C-Max Energi. It is 2014. All tires on the ground. We use a brake buddy and all works well. The odometer does not turn over. We plug in the car at the CG at the end of the day. Sometimes our travels take us to an EV station, as we found at Longwood Gardens last week. The C-Max is a great car. We love it for our every day car and our toad.

We used to tow a Toyota Yaris, but now use a Jeep Wrangler. There were too many places we wanted to visit, only to find a warning sign: Unimproved road - high clearance vehicle required. A Jeep solved that for us.

We flat tow a 2004 Chevy Malibu that weights about 3,200 pounds. It has a little over 145,000 on the odometer, and has been towed almost the same distance, including to Key West, FL, Fairbanks, AK, and an awful lot of places in between.

We get a little over 30 mph on the highway, low 20's in the city, and about the biggest repair, other than going through a lot of brake pads (thanks, Dobbs Goodyear, for the lifetime pads!), has been replacing the alternator this past winter. We've been talking about trading, but I can't figure out why we should.

I just bought a 2015 Honda CRV. This vehicle is made to tow. The steering wheel doesn't lock so you don't have to disconnect the battery. I use a tow dolly but it can be towed flat as well

mudman, are you sure your CRV is a 2015? I was under the impression that the 2015 CRV's with the cvt tranny were not able to be towed 4 down. 2015 Honda's aren't even listed in the MH Dingy Towing Guide anymore, as Honda says their cvt tranny cannot be towed 4 down.

I'm thinking of getting a towing setup on my 4 door Jeep. Will my 2015 30ds be able to handle this?

Iplayjem my setup on my JK is a aftermarket off road front bumper that has D-Ring ears. And a Tomken machine tow bar. About $250 for bumper and about $125.00 for the tow bar. Tomken machine also makes the front bumper but they ask about $500.00 for there bumper. I've towed my 2010 Jeep 4-door Rubicon all over the US with this set up with no issues or problems. Only thing l can't help with is if the FR3 30DS can hack it. When I had that set up I towed with a 1998 Fleetwood Flair with a 454 and it hacked it just fine with a average 9.8mpgs. I will find out in 4 more weeks if my 2015 FR3 30DS (JeNNY) can hack my current towing setup towing this jeepClick image for larger version

I am not sure about towing my CRV with all 4 wheels on the ground.I use a tow dolly and have no problems. I was told by a salesman the CRV was designed to tow with 4 wheels down. I didn't check it out because I use a Dolly. The CRV EX-L does dot have an ignition lock which is great

When the wife and I were looking at the CRV to tow four down, we passed on the 2015 and bought a 2014 because the 2015 is NOT flat towable because of the tranny.

Iplayjems... Just keep in mind that the FR3 30DS has a towing capacity of 5000#.

Just got back from my 1st test tow with Big Bird sitting on the car trailer. JeNNY didn't even know anything was hitched up to her.
