Windshield

Arrived at the Arlington KOA safe and fairly sound. I have a six inch crack developing in my windshield. 2015 30 DS FR3. From other post I get the impression the replacement can be difficult. So thoughts on getting it fixed here. Will be here 1week, or pray a lot and get it repaired 600 miles from here at home? Anyone faced this issue?

I had the same problem in New Mexico two years ago. I waited about a week and had a new windshield shipped to a shop in New Mexico for replacement.

First thing I'd do is give someone like Safelite AutoGlass a call and see what they say.

It takes 3 days to get my Georgetown windshield delivered to Waco. One day install. Don't delay to long if you want to get it replaced where you're at. Doesn't really matter where; your deductible doesn't change. You wouldn't have an issue if you wanted to wait till getting home. Replacement is a snap for the experts.

I drove mine with a crack about 400 miles home.
The new glass took about 3 weeks to land at my glass place. If you have a place I would wait. Someone that knows you will generally do a better job as the window is glued and then caulked. Ours is so much quieter than the original instillation

Ok the final decision is to go ahead with our trip and deal with it when we get home. Talked to safelight and they said they would have to order it from forest river( the factory). That could take a while. I have to go back to work Monday so we canít wait around. Thanks everyone for the responses. I love this forum and the ability to share info.

Windshield

To close this out, I got the MH back from the shop today. $750.00 deductible was the only expense. I feel sorry for anyone dealing with this during an extended trip.

Thanks all this was good to know info. I was wondering how this type of windshield scenario would play out.
