Pre wired rear view camera

Any one try adding a furring rear view camera? My brother purchased one and his 2019 Carolina toyhauler came with the camera prepped but there’s no power to the camera harness?
Any help would be appreciated

You have to turn on the trailer running lights to power camera.

I under stand some of the newer truck only supply 5 volts to the running lights which is not enough to power rear camera. Chevy is one of them. Later RJD

It is true that the tail lights on the vehicles are LED lights, powered by pulsed 5v signals.

BUT the trailer connectors on these vehicles (our 2015 Sierra has both 4-pin and 7-pin) conform to the standard 12v signalling.

Ever notice that they have separate relays and fuses for the trailer connectors than for the vehicle lights? One of the reasons is because of the different voltage supplied.

You would only notice the 5v issue if you tried to tap into the taillights for a do-it-yourself trailer connector.
