EVO 2700 Factory Issues

We recently upgraded from our previous 16' trailer and purchased a 2015 Evo 2700. We fell in love with the floor plan because the bunks on the lift system and the large door to bunks give you a ton of extra storage space.

I wish the quality from Forest River Evo was a little better. We have had to make a list of warranty work to be done from the day we took delivery. The trailer arrived from the factory with a damaged stove stop and a broken radio.

During our first trip, the latch from the curved cabinet next to sink broke causing the cabinet to crack while we were driving and the tension on all the drawers are lose so they open while in transit. We also noticed the tires the factory puts on the trailer are absolute junk. After only two trips the tires seem to be defective; there is a dent in the rubber on the sidewall of one tire which makes me want to replace all four.

Today I went to the storage yard where I keep the trailer to check on it and noticed one of the shelves in the pantry is separated from the side of the cabinet (see photo).

The dealer we bought the trailer from has been awesome and has promised to fix all the issues except the tires (they made it clear when we purchased it the tires are not covered under any warranty). The only problem is it takes forever for the parts to get from the Forest River factory to the dealer.

I understand by nature all RVs have quality issues, but I am annoyed that I purchased a 2015 trailer in Oct of 2014 and I am already having issues with parts of the trailer not lasting. The amount of time it takes to get the replacement parts from the factory is an additional annoyance as we have to delay trips to wait for these parts.

So was your dealer Johnny Walker? And not that's it's a bad thing- we like the service for the most part.

We bought our Evo 2850 from them. Only major issue at delivery was a dented stove hood. Since we got it in December, it has been back for front moldings coming off, awing pin backing out-twice, bathroom fan screen broken, a mini blind, and a cabinet door that fell off. So, we had some troubles too- but the happy time we spend in Woodstock far out weighs the negative.

They will fix everything for you and I think there is a thread on who to contact at FR to get a rebate on your tires. We just switched over to d rated about three weeks ago and sold our tires on Craigslist. FYI- I found that I had two bent rims when I changed the tires and kinda po'd about it.

But- fun time! Time for camping and mods! We are headed to willow beach next weekend- they have a few spots left so good shakedown pull.

We are definitely going to call about the tires. Overall we are happy with the trailer, but I feel like when you spend this amount of money on a brand new RV you shouldn't have to use the warranty this much in the first month. It makes me nervous about what I will have to deal with two years from now.

I agree their quality control needs assistance. Buy the additional FR warranty for 150. Things will break with usage and you can either have them fix it or you can fix it yourself better. If you need any ideas for modifications, I can give you some ideas.

JWRV has been great. This is my second trailer from them and my parents bought a motorhome from them as well. I can't believe how long it takes for the factory to send the replacement parts.

We traded in our pop up and they jumped at it for the upgrades I had done and the condition. We feel they were great to deal with also. I think they switched out our range hood with an in stock unit. After a few trips I found a dent in the stove top but I decided it wasn't worth the fight.

So parts wise, JW contacts FR to order your parts. FR contacts the vendor to order your part. Vendor ships from wherever ground to FR. FR ships ground from Indiana to here. Yep takes a long time- they definably do not have the network that car dealers do.

Hope you will be camping soon!
