2014 Legacy 340 BH

We are getting ready to upgrade from a 2015 FR3 30DS to a 2014 Legacy 340BH. Yeah I know we are getting a unit that is a year older, but we will be moving from a gasser to a DP. So any of you current or past Legacy 340 BH owners I would like to hear your pros and cons on the Legacy 340 BH.

we traded our 2015 Georgetown XL 360DS gasser for our Palazzo and have NEVER looked back... it's a world of difference, but not 'just' because it's a diesel, but because diesel Motorhomes, in general, have more robust suspensions and electrical systems, giving you more options and creative abilities...for instance:

- the diesel Air Bags allow you to have a great, smooth ride, and yet also provide the ability to deflate those bags to lower to coach to a more suitable height for easier leveling... and therefore, also gives you the ability on the XCS Chassis, like the Legacy and Palazzo, to only require a SINGLE entry step, which sometimes itself is not even needed.
- a Diesel's air system is also a plus, as it gives you greater stopping power with Air Brakes, PLUS it gives you an external air supply to fill tires or inflatable toys, or to blow out dirt and dust from your bays or compartments, etc.
- Diesel's use a powerful braking feature that uses the engine's own combustion output to slow the motorhome, called the Exhaust Brake(some use an even more powerful Jake Brake), which gives you easy slowing without having to use the foot brake, or to keep you at a consistent speed while descending heavy mountains, all without the need to worry whether your 'brakes' will survive, or overheat.
- diesel motorhomes tend to provide larger Inverters, with integrated Chargers, doing away with the need for Converters, and provide more House batteries, usually at least 4, and there are probably no new diesel ClassA motorhomes without 50amp RV power panels - even the generators are larger and more 'whole house' type to provide all the power you need, for everything at once...
- diesel coaches usually also have a fuel fill on BOTH sides, up near the driver, so refueling is SO much easier - the pump only needs to be right next to the driver or passenger to be in easy range, whether you are at a truck stop or a regular station everyone else uses. While newer diesels come with a DEF tank, the def is inexpensive and is only needed periodically, but provides for a very 'clear' exhaust - not the diesels of old!
- since the diesel is in the rear, driving is much more quiet, and talking is a joy - and if you're traveling in the winter, the diesel is heating up your bedroom!

just to name a few... I love all, though, and would enjoy a Coachmen Mirada LS!

We upgraded from a Georgetown 337 to a Coachmen Sportscoach 360 and love the difference. Coachmen has a lot of amenities which the Georgetown did not and the drive on the Interstate is a much easier ride with almost no push from 18 wheelers.
