Question Entry door

Does anyone know what size the gas prop is used for the entry door on a 2014 FR legacy?

I just replaced the one on my 2018 with this one on Amazon. Stock for me was 20 and 10lbs.

A gas cylinder on the entry door? Anyone have a picture? Not sure if I'd want one or not but our 2014 doesn't have one.

Future Sales Inc in Elkhart IN carries the exact replacement that was on our 2016 Legacy. All the ones I could find online were not quite the same as the original. Plastic ends break when the wind catches the door. Door is made by Champion.

Interesting - mine is a 2014 340KP, and it came with one. When the wind caught the door (not me opening it) and snapped the plastic socket off, I had to replace it and went with a 20lb pressure. Works good. I could get a pic tomorrow if it helps, or someone doesn't beat me to it.

It sounds like it is just the end of the gas cylinder that broke off.

The wind caught and broke mine so I bought a pack of these. If it is nasty out, I disconnect the cylinder and bungie cord the door. Then just snap it back in when things settle down. So far so good, it's a four pack and 2 years later, I still have 3 of them unused.

Do they fit on the original strut? I replaced the strut twice in the 2 years we had our Legacy. Our Berkshire XLT uses a different door, no strut to break.

Yes, the only thing I changed was the tip. It's a tight thread, almost like a pipe thread, so I held the strut extension with a vise grip over a rag and used a channel lock to remove and replace the tip.
