Generator not charging batteries

I recently had the generator running while using the microwave and a few overheard lights. I turned the roof fan on and everything dimmed for a second. From that point on the generator would not charge the battery bank. I can still charge the batteries via electrical outlet. Any ideas what happened? Thanks for your help.

check your Generator breaker, on the generator itself, it may have tripped... your inverter may still power your micro and lights, and your roof fan may have taken the batteries down a little too much, causing the dimming effect...

even the generator is 'running' does not mean that it is providing power - if your Magnum inverter panel shows 'inverting', then no, it is not providing power... if it says 'charging', then yes it is... : )

I wish there was an 'alert' provided for when the generator breaker has tripped, but alas, there is none, other than looking at your Inverter readout...

Thank you. Any ideas where the generator breaker is located?

They are located in different places on different generators you will have to look. Even if they don't looked tripped reset them anyway.
