Headlight Adjustment
Have a 2017 Legacy and the healdlights need adjustment. Look for the adjustment screws, but none to be found. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. The dealer said they adjusted them but they are still out of alignment. I did not see any easy way to adjust.

I'm sure if you posted a few pics of the headlight from above and maybe behind, we'd be able to direct you in the right direction. Every light is adjustable.

The Legacy headlights are an ongoing issue. On my 2015, they are just barely above totally useless. To drive at night, I have to use either the high beams or the fog lights to be able to see anything. There is an adjustment screw on mine; try leaning in and snapping a picture of the back of the light assembly and you may be able to see it.

Here is a picture of the headlight adjustment bracket on my 2017 Legacy. This headlight needs to be adjusted up and it is already at the end of the adjustment slot. Might have to reposition the screws.

That's the headlight mounting bracket, not the headlight adjustment. The headlight adjuster is usually mounted on the headlight assembly itself and moves the bulb or reflector inside the headlight assembly. From your picture I would be looking at those 2 white "knobs" for your adjustments.

Headlight issues
Well as many of you know these issues have been a problem for sometime. I have tried all kinds of bulbs and when my driving lights lost a bulb I chose to fix it myself. Well thats weird I thought...an H3 is the same bulb that was in my low beam light in my headlights...so yesterday I called Mitch Wirt at FR...told him why did they chose to use a H3 Bulb in the headlight. He said do not believe thats true...let me check...well hour later I get this e-mail with the photo attached...seems someone at the factory has been putting H3 bulbs made for the driving lights in the head light bucket. Its supposed to be a H1 Big difference now in lighting power and now have issue where the heat from the shorter bulb has ruined my adjustment ability...

I have a 2015 legacy, I checked mine today and I also have H3 bulb in headlight (low beam/driving light) and H1 in the high beams. High beams work great, low beams do not work at all. I'll change them to H1 and hope that fixes the problem. Thanks for the post, I've been watching for a solution in this forum.

H1 no difference
So I too have been watching this thread since my headlights are like having none, and finally checked my low beam bulbs - H3. I went and got an H1 and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Are they too long to reflect properly? Didn't seem to matter what adjustment I made with the screw. Also, the larger bump (nipple) on the bulb base doesn't seem to have a place to seat correctly. Are you sure a H1 is correct for the low beam?

I also purchased a set of H1s and they have a different base and do not fit. I used a dremel tool to modify the base of the H1 and installed them and they are worse than the H3s. I went back to the stock bulbs, H3, and need to use the fog lights when driving at night. Disappointing as I thought we had found a solution.

pieces of silver
Well, I decided to pull the headlight (driver side) to see if maybe dirt or moisture got inside the bulb cavity of the low beam causing it to not project well. After all, the passenger side was lighting the street in front of it very well, but the driver side was barely illuminating. Bad news. I believe the reflective coating is supposed to be affixed to the inside of the projector cavity. But when I removed the bulb and turned the light upside down, this came out. Not good. Sucks BIG time. C'mon FR.

I saw HID headlights on Amazon that looked just like ours on the Legacy a while back for around $259. Considered getting them because they were less than the fuel would cost me to travel back to the dealer for another set of what we already have. That’s on hold for now because I not sure if I’m going to keep our Legacy.

Replaced
Bought a new set of Eagle Eyes direct replacement (2011 Silverado). Unfortunately I couldn't find just one for half the $260 for the pair. Stuck it in and it lights up the street. Beautiful.
