Just that my 30 8C 2018 legacy up from RV and Texas drove home to New Jersey 1500 miles absolutely easy to driveCompared to my 2016

Congratulations on the new coach. We have a 2016 Legacy and are thinking about upgrading to a Berkshire XLT. I am curious why you ended up 1500 miles from home for your Legacy? I live in DE and am having a harder time trying to decide where I want to buy than what model and options I want.

Sheer price was the main reason. We used mhsrv in Texas. Priced all over and it was a significant difference and to my surprise it was an extremely big dealership with a large inventory and a very experienced and knowledgeable service crew. Would recommend them highly

Looking to trade my 2015 GT gasser for a 2018 Legacy BH. But, with the 340 Cummins engine, I am concerned about power. My GT Ford V10 advertises a max of 320hp at 3800 rpm and 450 lb-ft max torque. With the longer length and higher weight of the Legacy, I have to wonder if the CUMMINS 340 is enough power. Thoughts?

With the Cummins you'll have all the torque available to you almost instantly. That's where all the power will be and you'll notice a big difference between that and the V10.

Drove my 38C home yesterday. Like it a lot. Drives and rides quite good and power is not a big problem. We have a mountain trip coming up and i will let you know how it handles.

I just delivered a brand new BerkshireXL 38 from the factory to Knoxville, 500+ miles, over some fairly severe mountain passes on I75, and it performed better than expected, keeping the speed at 60-65 thru all the mountains, and certainly passing neighboring semi trucks easily. It's also very smooth, and the drive was pleasant. It's almost as nice of a ride as my own Thor Palazzo 33.3(!). : )

as for the bath entry... yes, it will be 'tight', though it's usable while the slides are in, but that's the 'give and take' when you have FOUR wonderful slides that open this baby up to a WONDERFUL wide open living area when parked! It's worth it.
Also, the interior appointments to this coach as the best I've ever seen, as compared to many other models and makes that I've delivered across the country - even Newmar. The dark wood cabinets, solid surface counters, and soft plush furniture are all superior and look very, very nice.

I'd update my Palazzo to this Berkshire any day.

Have been enjoying new 2018 38c for two and a half months. Decided on this coach because of improvements to cargo door latches, pull out generator, and complete water maniblock system. Very pleased with quality control. Spent four days at dealer with new coach and found three items that didn't seem to work were all my lack of knowledge, coach was perfect. 2000 miles on coach in 2 1/2 months -- all good!

I am seriously looking at a 2018 Legacy 38C bunkhouse. However, the asking price on a 2018 Berkshire 38 (not XLT) is $189K while the Legacy 38C is only $10-$20K less. What gives? Sure, the Legacy has a 340 hp Cummins compared to the Berky 360hp Cummins, but both are on the same chassis with the same transmission. The Berky has 1 and a half bath where the Legacy has two full baths. And, the Legacy has the very useful bed over he driver's seat. Help me here, what's the big difference? I want to buy something model year 2018 by this December.

you must have looked at incorrect info...

the Berkshire line is an xcR 'raised rail' chassis, with full bay storage, a 3000 transmission, larger engine, front 'bus' entry door, and slightly more 'bling', if you will

having said that, although the Berkshire is heavier, and with a larger engine, once you've driven both, you'll probably still think that the Legacy is smoother - it's lower to the ground, hence a lower center of gravity, and only a single entry step

Have you had any issues with the full wall slide. I’m having trouble with mine tearing the tile when we use it.

The front bath was pretty much unusable when the slides were in. Fixed that by putting a pad on the door handle and holding the door open with a shot cord before pulling in the full wall slide. This gave us the room we needed to use the facility although with a lack of complete privacy as a result.

I have 25000 miles on my Legacy, been coast to coast, all over the west coast, and all over the Canadian Rockies, always towing a Jeep. Have yet to be disappointed with power. Consistently get 10.5 mpg, often 11 on flat ground.

We like our Legacy but I would love to have the slide out generator. Not much I can do about that.

We looked at a 2017 Legacy 38C today. (BTW - It has a slide-out generator.) Very pleased with what we saw. Drove it a highway speed and was impressed with the stable handling, especially in light of the fact that we currently have a 2015 GT 364 which is all over the road despite numerous suspension upgrades.
Have talked with Tim Cunningham Factory Rep regarding the fact that the front bathroom door opens only 10-12 inches while on the road with the slide in. They engineered a fix on the mid-year 2018s. I'd like to get a photo of that so I can see if I can do it myself on a 2017.

We are going to look at a 2017 38c on Saturday. So what’ is up with the bathroom door when the slides are in?
Did you ever hear anything back about the fix?
