Updates
Hi
I'm looking to take the plunge and purchase a 16, any advice?
I've read lots of threads but most are a year old.
Anyone out there care to comment on any recent experience.
Thanks
Dan in Montana

You still haven't said what MAKE you're talking about.

Advice...buy close to home. Also, buy a second trailer from a more reliable brand, as your Airflyte will often be sitting at the dealer awaiting repair.

Yes, the 1961 Reissue is limited to a production run of only 1941 units (across all units and lengths), to commemorate the year that Shasta was founded. All new units should have been completed before now, and what's available is unsold units or used. AFAIK, all units are model year 2015.

i would research research research the camper and your dealership!! make sure the dealership is close and its a good dealership!!! talk a LOT about how the warranty work will be handled and make sure the team in the service departments are on the same page with each other and also take a few folks with you that can help you spot anything that needs fixed before you buy and leave the lot... lots are having trouble getting warranty claims oked by shasta and has been a ruff year owning one ... make sure all the recalls have been addressed and i would read every thread every post and go on facebook and join a group called Shasta Glampers In the Know for truthful real hard truths about problems they dont kick people out for talking about the problems of their campers even if it has been talked about 1000000 times they still will listen and try to help you by telling you what they did to fix their problem which a lot of different campers have had the same problems and there is another forum online i think its called airflyte hacks read all you can on the camper most of the time i wish i would have stayed to tent or hammock camping, but i hope that shasta will finally get the work oked to get mine fixed and i can camp and be dry and if i needed to use my wetbath and the ac will actually work to keep the camper cool we will see if the ac mods work once the GA heat kicks up ...

Shasta Air Flyte 16'
I have a 16' airflyte reissue serial number #417; bought it in 11/2014. These are nice looking and have a retro design but the quality control issues are too numerous to mention; overall poor quality. Many of them were corrected under warranty during the first year of ownership but it took several visits to the authorized dealer to get them corrected. The most major on going issue is the a/c. The original unit did not cool but we purchased the trailer in the winter so we could not check it until warmer weather. That unit was replaced in December 2015, under warranty and Shasta's installation instruction fix was followed by Camping World that did the work. The new unit produces cold air but it is not sufficient to cool the interior of the trailer on a moderately warm day when the trailer is in the sun. I am convinced that one of the main issues is that the unit is installed in a cabinet on the floor and cold air can not reach the ceiling. There is a reason why air conditioners in most rvs are roof mounted. I am now investigating a retrofit with a roof mounted a/c unit but I am sure that it won't be under warranty. Has anyone had experience with this in their airflyte?
