1st dent / scratches - submit claim or not?

Well just like any new car I guess you always remember the 1st ding or dent. This past weekend our 2016 Greywolf had its 1st mishap. While camping on our family's private land a storm rolled in at night with some gusty wind and caused our pop up canopy about 15ft away to go airborn and it smacked the side of the camper around midnight. I promptly ran out in the rain and blowing wind to take it down but damage was already done. No structure damage only cosmetic and on the driver side so not something we have to look at for the most part. We have 5 more years left on the loan so looking for opinions on whether this is worth submitting a claim or not. This is not a repair I would attempt myself. I know if this damage was on my my TV I would submit a claim but do you on minor mishap on a camper like this?Click image for larger version

If it's not dinged and scratched up, you're not using it right.

Thanks for all the replies. The icing on the cake from this weekends camping adventure was that on my way out as I made the sharp turn to get onto the road the rear driver side stabilizer jack caught the bank with a tree root buried in it. Couldn't back up cause of how it was wedged so no choice but give it some gas and well bent the jack up of course. New one ordered and on its way. Definitely have some good stories from this weekend but all in all had a great time with friends and family.

Might talk to a paintless dent person. They might get most of that out. I have a lot of faith in those guys. Good luck.

Yes. I have them on my trailer. One part bolts to the trailer and the other part bolts to the Jack. Slide the Jack into the mount on the trailer, put in the safety pins and use the Jack. Time to leave, lower the Jack and remove. No more Jack hanging down to get caught.

Got your first stripes..

As they say on the NASCAR circuit, it is your first camping stripe. You'll get more if you camp for a while. I think the only thing we fixed was the wheel well fell apart after the tire blew. Just move on and count it as experience.

Leave it. Who knows , maybe tomorrow something will put a really big dent in your rig. Then it will be worth it. You just have to take the gamble.

Sorry to hear about that...BUT, I don't think that will be your last scratch. It's like owning a boat....B.O.A.T...bring on another thousand..
Stuff happens....have fun...try to not let it bug you.

Yea, and here is another reason to keep the dents. My first long trip was to Minnesota. Pulling out of a gas station in Montreal my TT caught the "pump protector". Fortunately I recognized the mistake before to much damage was done. Every time I see the minor damage, it reminds me of that wonderful 9 days we spent on the road. Like everyone says, "Its a camp story!"
