2017 26RR Shower Issue

The area between the drain and the door sink in when stepping on it when taking a shower. Its not a large area but find it strange it does that. I was just wondering if this was normal or if any other folks were having this issue.

If it was not braced properly underneath, then yes it will depress. If you have an access panel at bottom of shower, remove it and brace bottom of shower with wood shim.

If the floor of the shower ( shower pan) is raised above the floor, there should be an access port in one the side of it. Simply remove the access door and you can add supports under the shower pan. I used small pieces of 2X4 and 2X6 and some shims to support the floor. Once you determine the correct combination of pieces simply glue them together and reinstall them. On ours the screws has small caps that pop off to allow you access to the screws.

I am going to check it this week. If its the case that it needs support, that is piss poor manufacturing. What company would let it go with incomplete work done? I am wondering if any other 26RR owners have the same issue or if I am the unlucky one.

I have a 2016 26RR and it also has a soft shower floor. I notice it in a few areas of the shower floor. I haven't done anything with it, but will now that I read this post.

I also had a leak in mine where we would occasionally find water draining onto the bathroom floor while taking a shower, near the bedroom door opening.

It turned out to be the lower two corners of the door frame needed caulk. The water would drain down the shower door glass, migrate through the 90 degree seam in the aluminum, and drain via the exterior aluminum channel right above the "soft floor" until it met the wall, then would work it's way down to the floor.
Very simple fix once I found it, just took numerous caulks and inspections to figure out how the water was channeling out of the shower.

My 26rr is soft in the same spot as well. Also leaks in the same spot as post#6. Thanks to the both of you I will be addressing these problems. Keep us posted as to what you use to support the floor, I will do the same.

Well, if this is the only thing you find poorly done you will be the luckiest person on earth. I’d suggest you prepare yourself for many more unexpected shoddy things. JMHO.

Ours must have been made at the same time. I had the identical issue with water on the floor by the bedroom. Caulked it really good and no more water. Later this week I will be addressing the shower pan supports. Hopefully it wont be to bad of a fix.

I had the same leak as you guys. I caulked it really good and leak stopped. Hope the support issue for the shower pan wont be to bad of a fix.

I have the same leak the rest of you have so well described. Never did caulk or seal though because I figured out if I am slightly nose high the water never runs to the front of the channel and onto the floor. The water stay in the channel of the base and eventually runs back into the pan or evaporates.
Since I made that set up adjustment - no more water on floor

I ended up taking my shower apart and redoing it. To solve the leaks and the surround was not set right. Wall was not plumb so one corner was fine on bottom but the other corner was up over the lip of the base.

I ended up using a 2x4, 5 eights plywood, sheet of foam insulation, and wood paint stirrers for shims. I made two short pieces to use under the over hang that is not supported. Then used the longer piece in the area where they failed to use anything. It took a few trips back and forth the the TT but finally got it done. Hopefully I can get the 2 before pic's and the 2 after pic's uploaded.

Just a quick question as we just bought a 2019 26dbh and when I took a shower in it our last trip 3 weeks ago I noticed a soft spot basically from the halfway point of the tub towards the drain and I’m 210lbs and that seemed Weird to me there was a soft spot in the tub. I’m thinking I’m gonna have the dealer or factory fix this as it doesn’t seem right and it’s still under warranty. Am I right in thinking this is the way to go. Sorry to hijack but seems same prob and I don’t feel like I have to fix it. I have no leaks but I don’t know if consistently using the shower would it eventually produce a leak I’d rather get it fixed before that happens and it’s out of warranty.

My concern was the long term wear and tear of stepping on the soft spot and the drain and shower pan as well. You would think it would be under warranty but I do not know if it would be or not. It was easier for me to fix it than let them have it for weeks during the camping season. I hope they take care of it for you!

Why wouldn't they fix it... it's brand new?
If it sags and has a soft spot, demand (in a nice way) they fix it.
