2017 Cherokee Grey Wolf 26DBH roof

Hello Everyone,

I am in the process of shopping for a 2017 Grey Wolf 26DBH either used or new. There are used 2017's in my area that are sold by RV rental dealers. These seem to be early 2017 and have some details that are different than a new 2017 also being sold in my area. The main differences are just some lighting and colors of some materials.

One major item I was told by the dealer with the new 26DBH was that as of 2017 they now have one piece PVC roofs with a 12 year factory warranty. The RV rental dealer that was selling the used early 2017's had never heard of that. I tried searching here and Google and did not find much related to this Forest River model.

Has anyone else had dealer tell them that or heard of this change in roof material coupled with a 12 year warranty?

Thank you for all the great info on here!!

I know the roof on our 2016 is a one piece...I think it's PVC based off of the surface being more rough unlike EPDM which would be smooth.

However the 12 year warranty on it is written though, I'm sure it makes it darn near impossible for a fella like your or I to get a claim on it. Honestly, all roofing warranties (Home or RV) are a farce....There's so many exclusions written in them for installation quality/workmanship that it all but guarantees them they'll never have to pay out on them.

There must be a split in where they changed roof material...because my trailer is a 2017 Grey Wolf 26DBH (bought in June of 2016) and mine has a rubber roof on it. I was told I had a 10 year warranty on the roof as long as I did regular care and maintenance on it.

It may also differ depending on whether you are in the East or West. That's why they have you select it on the website.

Thanks all for the additional details! I'm on the east coat.

The dealer with the new 26DBH had indicated that, with the change in material, the roof was maintenance free. This being my first camper, I did not question her, but with the research I had done I was very surprised. She did also state this warranty was transferable. If truly the case these 2 items seem like very big selling point for new and for re-sale.

I did speak with a rep from RV Wholesale who did not have a lot a details but did say that it is likely that the warranty comes from the manufacturer of the material that the roof is made from, which would explain why there was no mention of it on the Forest River website.
