2020 Wolf Pup 16FQ
Hey y’all,
Well... I did it. Check will be in the mail Monday from my bank headed to my local RV dealer and with a little prep, she’ll be coming home. Buying a new year model camper can be a challenge. Reason being is with so many variances of the same year/model travel trailer it makes it difficult to get solid reviews as well as learn from other pup owners what to expect. Even the 2019 have differences from the 2020 and understandably so. As technology changes so does what goes in the rv. I chose mine based off a few factors, one of which being the fiberglass sides. I think it gives a cleaner look, less susceptible to damage from dings and just gives a cleaner look.
For a small camper and yes it is small, it will work for me and Charlie. I drive truck and weekends need a little more fun in our lives so the 16FQ was a good choice for one person and a dog. While it will work for a couple, me personally I think it would be a little cramped for 2-3 people BUT that’s dealership walkthrough. Picturing it in a campground setting, awning out, chairs set up, actually makes it appear larger. I think it just depends on the individual and their needs. Overall I think is going to be great and since there really is no reviews on this years 16FQ model for real world usage, I will post some videos on YouTube on the likes/dislikes, mods, etc. so more to follow on that.
First impressions on interior are positive. The round sink reminds me of an airstream although I wish mine had come with a flush fitted cutting board to add more counter space but I think a nice wood finish one that I will have made may look nicer. The TV mount does look like its lower than previous year models but would like some sort of swivel/lock control. There’s a couple mounts I have found on amazon that should line up with the existing slot mount so I will be experimenting with that as well. As far as tv size I think a 24” Smart TV would fit fine, same size I have in the semi. From the Murphy Bed/Sofa might be a little far to catch all details watching TV, but with swivel mount I might get a 12” closer viewing angle away from the wall so we’ll see.
Anyway, glad to be here, very much looking forward to enjoying this little trailer and sharing those experiences with others in the community and if your ever up in north west Tennessee, say hi!

Yep Piney Campgrounds. Decent rates, some spots are on the lake but campground is right there so easy lake access. Quiet, clean, you’d like it

Good choice
Great looking camper. Just the size for you and the guard dog. He will enjoy the sleeping quarters.
Our past dog a bloodhound claimed the sofa in the motorhome.
Current dog, smaller likes the carpet by the bed. We downsized to this 24’ tt and it fits our pack just fine.
Enjoy

I used to own a 2015 Wild Pup 16fq. It’s me and my wife, and the trailer was fitting reasonably ok. The best part is the bathroom, really usable. A problem I found were the two legs underneath the dinette table, with the wheel well on the side they were leaving no space for the feet when sitting, very annoying in a short time. I solved by taking off the central leg and adding a support on the wall, a simple aluminum L, but the newer model with the long window do not allow that. You could maybe consider to move the central leg to the side, on top of the wheel well.
A little cramped in the central section, two persons will have to dance a little if someone is cooking and the other is getting around, but not a big deal.
All in all a nice little trailer, I only sold it to upscale to a Lance with slideout. Nice improvement in space, huge difference in price... ;-(

Run it in good health.
We've had our 2016 Pup for 4 years now. We're retired and have traveled from Maryland to Maine, live in NJ. It tows great with my old Ridgeline, which is why we got it. The Ridgeline maxes out at 5k lbs. The new interior looks nice, like the fold down couch and stainless sink. Enjoy!!!

Congrats and nice Pup, actually I like both pups. I have a 2013 Wolf Pup toy hauler that I pull with my 2010 Dodge Dakota with the 4.7 V8. The wife and I along with my 2012 Harley Road Glide, dog and cat will be making our 8th trip to Florida in February. We camp at the state parks. We vary parks for the first 2 weeks, doing Silver Springs at Ocala this year for the first 2 weeks. We always end up at Tomoka at Ormond Beach for the last 2 week running into the first weekend in March and Bike Week at Daytona. We ride up and down the coast from St. Augustine to Cocoa Beach. It gets a little crowded sometimes for the wife, dog, cat and myself but we survive and enjoy the month. When we get back home our small house seems really big for a few days, lol. We have enjoyed our Pup. Hoping you enjoy yours too.

Any ideas for making the bed usable? The folding mattress makes a step where it transitions from the plywood to the cushion.

Bed mods
I removed the front panel of the bed platform and made two opening doors like the cabinet doors using the panels own wood. Get two totes and slid them in and out. No more lifting mattress.

Nice Pups!
I'd make an inset sink filler with a finger hole if I were you. My Wolf Pup had A LOT of wasted space behind filler panels under the sink and in the upper cabinets. I opened those up. At least you have the smooth topper for the stove top. I see you have the Limited package. The Black Label has the same sink but with the topper.
You'll find a lot of nice features and a lot of areas you can improve. Check out all the Wolf Pup modifications threads here.
One helpful setup hint: make sure the steps hang flat on the threshold after leveling side to side BEFORE disconnecting from the tow vehicle. The steps can and will jam the door from operating. This can happen on an upward sloping site. This can even occur if the TT wheels sinks into soft ground. In my own yard, I had to use a jack to lift that side up to free the door from the steps, to allow the door to open, to place the steps inside, then pull the trailer wheels onto large boards to stop sinking at that location.

Nice. I picked up mine in December. I had the dealer rip out the dinnette (we always eat outside) and we put a jackknife sleeper sofa in it's place. It's 6 ft. long, so even I can sleep there. I opted for the queen bed without the couch at the end. (I have no interest in putting away my bed every day.). I sure hope I get a chance to use it someday! Go away Co-vid!

Hi all, I'm looking at the 2020/2021 16FQ with the 12v refrigerator. It seems like a great fit for us, but we'll probably be doing a lot of camping without hookups and I'm a little hesitant about not having a propane fridge. How long can I expect the electric model to run on a charge? I'm not against putting in a solar panel or two but don't want to get stuck with no fridge. Who has experience with this? Any insight is much appreciated, thanks.

I realized this after I bought mine. The dealer said it should last a weekend, but I always carry an extra battery, and mine came with a solar pack on the roof, so I'm not going to worry about it. Since there is no camping yet (co-vid), I haven't really tested it, but boy did that freezer start up cold right away! Plus, the refrigerator is so big (for such a small unit), I figure the worst thing that could happen is that I have to break out a small cooler, waiting in the wings--I could even place it inside the fridge.

2020 Wolf Pup 16 FQ
Just purchased our first trailer...excited to get it out this weekend. I added a gauge and cover to the Propane. I was able to get a 32" smart tv in after I bridged the studs and moved the mount over and down about 1 1/2". Definitely liking the door mods for accessing the under bed storage. I have a nice list after seeing all the ideas on here! Will check back after our trip!!
