1. Installed two 6 volt GC batteries
(Good plan. I may need to take one out since my tongue weight is probably too high now)
2. Remover jack-knife sofa and replaces with two recliner chairs.
More comfy I'm sure. My wife doesn't really like the way "leather" makes you slide off of it". I do like the storage underneath. That's where I keep tools and such."
3. Installed two 5 in. vinyl fence posts under trailer belly for sewer hoses.
(bought one to install but decided to return it because my hose seems fine in the bumper).
4. Installed 32 in. TV in bedroom with swivel wall mount.
Wow! My wife nixed a TV in there. Not much room for one thing.
5. Fabricated and installed corner cabinets in rear of TT.
(I'd love to see those photos! When you have a photo you like, "cut and paste it" where you type here. It worked for me from my photos I store in Google photos.)
6. Installed 40 in. TV over fireplace. Removed for traveling.
I couldn't get one to fit. At the distance from the sofa the 32" is just fine for us. I also didn't want to remove it all the time.
7. Installed a Renogy 2000 watt inverter in front storage area.
(I'd like to know how this is done also. We may not dry camp but having a bit of 110V options (TV maybe) would be nice.)
8. Cutout front panels under closets in bedroom and installed pullout drawers.
I added shelves but the "dump" area under the lowest shelf is a bit annoying. I like the drawer idea ALOT!! Who designs these things?
9. Sewage drain was to low and rubbed on speed bumps. Raised 3 in.
We've been lucky so far but I agree it's darn low!
10. Moved clothes rods back 2 in.in bedroom closets.
11. Installed pull-out drawers in pantry.
That sounds super handy!
12. Installed handle on screen door to facilitate better closing.
I forgot to mention I did that too. Stupid me made it a bit too wide the first time and the door wouldn't close all the way. So there are a couple of extra holes. Not worried about it tho...
13. Installed shelf in cabinet under sink.
I may mod that area, the DW would like to keep the trash can there
14. Wheel lug nuts have sheet metal covers. Replaced with new lug nuts.
Hmmmmm Is that a safety thing or aesthetics? Also, do you still have original tires like we do?
15. Cut-out front panel under bedroom closet and installed a door so I could
reach hot water heater bypass valves without crawling under bed.
Can you remind me why the bypass valves are important to access?
Projects still to do:
1. Add more solar panels.
Our unit is not Solar prepped that I can tell. We have 2021 made in October 2020 without solar but with 2 way fridge.
2. Install struts under bed to ease lifting and hold bed up.
I did that and added a divider thin plywood between under bed and "basement" storage. I bought 100lb struts. DONT TO THAT, it's 50% stronger than needed. I also had to cut the board under the bed so that the pivot point made more sense. They installed it to basically pivot the entire mattress up. When I divided the storage area, I changed that!
It's nice to hear from someone that has the same camper! A couple of other things that have gone wrong are, upon arrival home the first day we pull up out front and our son comes out and says, "Hey DAD is it already broken?". Well the "armor" underneath had come un-attached from bottom and was hanging down on the passenger side. I've zip tied it up and it seem okay for now. Is there a way you can tell me if the white hose that transitions from the driver side to the passenger side is supposed to be attached somehow? Currently it's just resting on the armor. And also how is the armor supposed to be fastened on the passenger side?
We also had the two top screws that hold the microwave in come out. I drilled to holes in the sheet metal and installed longer screws, into actual wood!
The only other problem thing so far was the fitting that connects to the MPT of the toilet had a super slow leak. I tried teflon tape and finally went to a local RV place and bought a new 90 degree fitting for $10 that I've installed. We keep our trailer at a storage yard so I won't know if it's fixed until we take it out again this weekend.
I'd love to chat more with you about your trailer! It's our first one and we really enjoy the upgrade from 25 years of tent camping together!
BTW what is your tow vehicle?
