Talking 2021 wolf pup dinette seat storage

Has anyone done any mods to the storage bins under the dinette seats? Pain in the you know what to remove cushions, and plywood to access storage area from the top. Was playing with the idea of how to access from the front (draw that slides out) but the cheapo paneling is attached via 100 or so staples and I’m thinking I’ll destroy if I try to remove (installer must have just learned how to use the staple gun and got carried away. Just curious if anyone else had attempted and had any tips without destroying the whole seat lol.

Simple thing to do to improve access, drill two holes larger than finger size to make getting the plywood up easier.

From there, we went a step further. The rearmost dinette seat has a safe bolted down under it where I stash anything. I also made the exterior panel held on by velcro so I can remove it and access the safe. Above the wheel well there I placed my automatic transfer switch, especially since that is where shore power comes in from.

You can see the ATS and some of what we did in this video:

I popped the front in on the seat by the door and throw shoes in it. I did add a little frame to the seat center and put the panel there.

Oh it's worth mentioning... if anyone in your rig STANDS on the corner of those dinette seats to get to the overhead storage, I highly endorse reinforcing them. Easy to do with some 2x2

We did what they did and popped out the front. I don't have a picture of it but here's the link.

I agree, what a pain to get into the seat storage under the dinette set cushions. Here’s what I did: I installed long drawer slides with wood slides. I removed the original cabinet door (hopefully you have the cabinet doors! If not, you can order a pair to match on line) then I made full length drawer slides and installed those cabinet doors on the drawer slides and relocated the door handles. It actually wasn’t too difficult to do.

That looks great! Yea unfortunately we don’t have the cabinet doors, just flimsy 1/8” ply or whatever it is. My biggest issue was trying to find something that matched so it didn’t look way off. Never thought to look online for the doors, good call!

Hadn’t even thought of just leaving open. Looks good like that actually! Good spot for shoes for sure

Here's a picture. We just popped the front out of both benches and it makes it a lot easier to store items. Click image for larger version

I'm doing this very mod this weekend. We need shoe storage! Between my wife and kids, there is a pile of shoes in front of the door that is going to get me a broken leg soon!

Amen to that! The pile of shoes (each family member usually brings mult. pairs too!) is never-ending! I am considering this mod plus popping out the bottom right-hand corner of the bed frame (if facing towards the bed) for more easily accessible storage areas. Saw some photos on a FB Wolf Pup Mods group recently and really liked the concept (see attached).

I popped out the front of the seat without damage, it takes a while. Eventually I'd like to cover the bare wood but for now it works for the cat's litter box in a sub-box in the back and shoes in front of it.
Goodyear Endurance tires, vent cover, gas struts for the overhead cabinets and a slim shade in the door were the other changes I made immediately.

Great to see ideas. Our 17JG came with drawers under the front and back benches. I extended the supports for those and then added some hdpe plastic runners so they slide in and out better. I am in the process of trying to find a way to support them better once they are pulled out. I have a system in place, but the plywood is too flimsy.

The legs fold up as you push the drawer back in. Not as fluid as I'd like, but I am working on that.

For the space that on the exterior wall of our U-dinnette, I have considered adding drawers there too, but you would only be able to pull them out about 10" before they hit the table supports.

Doing it this way tho, all you would need to do is cut the panel and reinforce the opening and build drawer guides.

But, under the dinette is some wasted space. I considered removing that kick-board and replacing it with shoe storage because that is huge issue here as well. You'd just have to make sure it wasn't too deep to interfere when the slide is out and the wiring behind there, but the height is about right for even high-top hiking boots. If you wanted to be fancy, you could even have a wide hinged door covering the messy shoes??

I would also LOVE to be able to build large industrial grade drawers under the bed so that duffle bags could be stored in them and then just pulled out to access as opposed to cleaning off the bed and then lifting it. But I don't know that I have the skills to do that appropriately.
