22 Wolf Pup 17JGBL length

Does anyone know the box length of the '22 Wolf Pup 17JGBL? I would take my tape measure and measure it but unfortunately its at the service center getting repaired . I'm looking at either building a storage shed or purchasing a metal prefab carport and trying to determine the total length of the box. I assume the 23'4" manufacturer spec is from the bumper to the hitch?

I always thought the USEABLE box length is the number in the model #

17JGBL = 17 foot excludes any curves used just for styling...

edit.... additional
----------------------------------------------------------------

you need tongue to bumper length for storage. which is usually around 3-4 foot depending on what is ON the bumper

Thanks for the info. I read other posts stating that FR does not always follow the length in their models so I wasn't for sure. I actually don't need the tongue for storage since this will be a open carport on both ends.

I have never found the numbers in the model to reflect much of anything as to actual lengths, inside or out.
I did find this that says the total exterior length is in fact 23'4". Sounds plausible, but actual length may be slightly different when you measure your specific RV.

It seems like there are posts here every week proving one can't make any assumptions based on model numbers/characters. They can mean something usable. They can mean nothing. Measuring is best if you're going to build something.

EDIT: Scott types faster than I do!

I would want the carport to extend several feet beyond each end of my RV, including hitch and bumper, especially for an open ended carport. A lttle more protection against inclement weather.

Yep. When I was planning my open ended trailer shed, my son (not a camper, an automotive technician) recommended I make it long enough on the front that I could be out of the rain when I was hitching up/unhitching.

That’s genius [emoji3] I can almost guarantee you I wouldn’t have thought of that until the shed was built and was unhitching in the rain.

My 26DBH is almost 32' long tongue to bumper rack. Probably over that with the spare tire.

When I built a storage cover for it, I worked my way up from a 12'x30' carport to what I have now. I believe in overkill, if you know what I mean.

I built a 30'x50'x14'H fully enclosed metal building on a 6" slab. I have all idea I will eventually end up with a 5er, so, it's got a 14' high rollup door in the front.

I paid more for the building to store my camper in than I did for my camper!!
But I also use it as equipment storage for tractors and other toys too

I needed to see if my trailer fitted in a spot at my house...I fed a string / rope under the trailer. Pulled it tight and put slip knots where trailer started and ended. Tied string / rope to a cinder block so it wouldn't move.

Then laid the string / rope in the spot I wanted to park.
Too cheap to buy a longer tape measure!
