274RK bypass

Hello All--

As I went to winterize my new 2017 Cherokee 274RK I found that I have to raise and crawl under the bed to get to the bypass valves on the water heater.

I'm searching for a simple answer to fix this issue.

I'm considering cutting a hole in the "night stand" to give better access, however my wife wants to me ask you folks first. She really doesn't want me to start cutting.

Any thoughts??????
Thanks.....

Well, I thought I'd share what I'm doing for other 274rk owners who may be running into the same thing.

After a lot of research I found no answers-- SOOoooo,

What I'm doing is replumbing the water heater by pass.

The total cost will be about $75. and probably about 2 hours.

If any one wants the plans and parts just pm me and I'll send a copy of the drawing and parts list.

Well, this morning I completed the task of replumbing my WH so I don't have to open and crawl under the bed to reach the bypass valves anymore. Cost about $60.00 ($25 was tools) and about an hour.

I gained about 10 inches and can now reaching the valves much easier. I will probably add an access pane later.
