Adding fireplace to 2017 Cherokee 27dbh

After seeing the new 27dbhs with a fireplace in the entertainment unit, DH and I are thinking about adding a fireplace to our entertainment unit in our 2017 27dbh - would save having to drag out the portable heater every camping trip in the spring and fall!

Just wondering if anyone here has done that modification to their trailer? And if you did, what fire place did you go with? Thanks!!

Does your RV have 50 amp service or a spare breaker slot you could use to power the FP?

Routing the wiring might be an issue, but it's likely doable with a little investigating and creative routing.

The stock Fireplace is in a 30amp service. It shares a breaker with the microwave with an "either/or" switch in the line- so that only one can be run at a time. You may be able to copy this approach to installing.

This is how the optional fireplace in our 26DBH is wired. The unit is a Greystone F2625 and, while we've only used it once, seems to work well.

Our space heater gave up and we needed a new one. I had the idea to add an elec fireplace with a heater in it . I ordered the fireplace on line and had a friend who is handy with woodworking install it. He removed the 2 middle doors and the shelf hat was inside under the tv and built a frame for the fireplace. He drilled a hole in the countertop to pass the plug thru. It is plugged into the outlet where the tv is. We’ve been living in oThe trailer for more than 2 weeks and used the fireplace daily. No problem even when using the microwave.
