Attaching kayak to camper ideas

I have a wolfpup 16bhs and I’m looking for ideas on how I can securely attach kayaks to the back of the camper. The camper came with a bumper mounted cargo carrier. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Martin

I put mine on top of my truck using a truck rack. I have seen a kayak carrier for eight foot kayaks that stands them on the stern to the bumper. I’ll see if I can find a picture.

Yes it definitely does. I’m looking into getting a ladder rack to put on my new truck.

That is what I use as well. My kayaks are 14 feet and I put them upside down on the racks. With an extra tie down strap on the side of the rack I can load one myself too.

I saw a guy with a real sweet rack on the back of his Class C that held 3 or 4 kayaks. Asked him where he got it, and he said he made it himself. So, if you know how to weld and have some spare steel laying around, I'm sure you could do that as well.

What rack do you guys have? Will it work with a tonneau cover?

This is like what I bought from Home Depot and no it will not work with your cover.

WOW! That's a lot of gear hanging off of that rig. I'd be worried about low overpasses and catching limbs in the campground.

I am going to replace my wimpy rear bumper with a beefy one, then either buy, or build a vertical carrier for (2) 10' kayaks.

Kayaks

The best and really only safe way to carry w/ a TT is w/ a ladder rack. The YAKSUPS racks clearly state to not we use w/ TT. They are great racks and work well w/ % th wheels.

We carry ours on top of the truck. You can see it if you enlarge our forum picture. The picture below is of one we saw a year or so ago.

I ended up buying a Yakima overhaul hd rack for my kayaks with the 78” cross bars. I will be testing her out here shortly. I will
Need a step ladder to get it up there but at least I won’t be hitting the front of my camper anymore!
Thanks to everyone for your comments!
