Champion 4500w dual fuel

If your looking for a inverter generator Amazon has the Champion 4500w start/3500 run dual fuel with electric start on a pretty good sale right now. 32% off for $921 shipped. Best price I’ve seen for the dual fuel in that size of a closed frame inverter generator so I’ve got one on the way.

We bought one about 6 months ago for around that sales price. You got a good deal.
Although it's a bit heavy at around 100 lbs, it's a great inverter generator. Easy to set up and quiet. Lots of power in a compact box.

I've got the 3500/3200 starting, 3150/2880 running on gas/lpg from Aug of last year for $58 more so definitely a good buy. Surprised that this unit's rating is the same for both gas and lpg at 4500/3150.

If you look on the official Champion web site it tells you this...
Operate your Dual-Fuel generator right out of the box on gasoline or propane, and easily switch fuels with the EZ Start dial. When the 2.3-gallon tank of gasoline is full, the 212cc Champion engine produces 4500 starting watts and 3500 running watts and will run for up to 14 hours at 25% load. When using a 20-pound propane tank, it produces 4500 starting watts and 3150 running watts and will run for up to 21 hours at 25% load.

Okay ? I don't get the point, as I was comparing another model 3500(my unit) which is rated lower while running on LPG.

My point was what I emboldened within the quote of your post.

You mentioned you were surprised the units rating was the same on gas and LP.

I simply pointed out that if you go the the manufacturers web site and read the specs the manufacturer lists for that unit, the ratings ARE NOT the same. It too is lower on LP. 3500w running on gasoline and 3150w running on LP.

Might be that the larger engine is capable of producing more power but the Inverter is limited to this amount. This limited output may match the power output of the engine when running on LPG.

Then again, it may just be a mis-print.

Either way, I'm sure the output on LPG is proportionally more than a 3500w Inverter.

It does now.
The day of the OP it was $920.92.
Amazon often has one or two day sales. You have to act quickly.

That and rapidly increasing prices[emoji15]

If one is considering a purchase like a generator, and thinking "maybe in the spring", good chance the price will be noticeably higher.

It goes on sale occasionally. It was on sale at about that price when we bought ours back in June.

Lol, must have been a flash sale or the OP got theirs near the end of the sale. I remember this being on sale in July when I was looking for one. I went with the 4650 version though that I got on sale.

Champion Generator

We purchased the same model for 798.00, great unit, ran for days this summer, clean and quiet. We ran a 15 k ac unit, TV, microwave with no problem. Keep a price check for the unit, the price fluctuates on a weekly basis, I jumped on it when it was on 1 day sale, had been looking at the champion DF for months. It sells out a lot. Everyone that we camped with commented on how quiet the generator ran. Remember to run the break in cycle and change the oil. I installed a dipstick with a magnet on the end, and after the first oil change, the magnet was covered. The second oil change, hardly nothing. Been running great ever sense. . What's really nice, and not mentioned in the specs, is if you have fuel in the tank and propane hooked up, it will run on the propane then switchs over automatically to gas when the propane runs out, giving you a lot of extra run time. Really is a great little unit. Recommend it highly.

Good grief! That's a bouncing ball price. I feel sorry for the person who pays $1300+.
The reason we bought the dual fuel was to avoid using gas. (Gas can be difficult to get after a hurricane or in a winter storm, gas storage is difficult, and propane avoids some maintenance issues.) This one is oversized for what we need as an emergency backup for the house. We don't want to get stuck without at least backup power in case of another freeze in Texas. Our rig has a generator, but it's stored around 20 miles away.
Plus someone had given us several large filled propane bottles that they were getting rid of.....

This is a good way to get the generator, and a lot of other things, safely in and out of the truck. I bought a 6250/5000 invertor generator. I was originally looking at a smaller one because of weight. When I found the Rack Jack hoist, I bought a larger generator. The larger gen will come in handy if power goes off here at home.

It is a good way to load generators.

Here's the one I like if you have a Rural King near you.
500 lb. capacity.
Adjustable foot for ground contact. (not all the load is on the tube/receiver)
Includes a nice gambrel that's just the right width for portable generators.
Almost 1/2 the money.

Rural King 500 Lb. H/D Truck Receiver Hoist

I was in Lowes looking at Generators and they had a 3500/3200 starting, 3150/2880 running on gas/lpg priced at $59. It was in a locked fence shelf I had to find an associate to open the lock to get to it. He pulled it put for me asking if I wanted it, I said yes and he put it on my buggy. He turned as I started to ck out and said its $99. I stopped and pointed the sign for $59 out, he argued so I got a manager over and he went to ck out with me, scored it $59. It will run our 21 ft FR Wildcat Platinum just fine, haven't tried AC and Microwave at the same time yet.

Quite the deal for sure, even at $99.
Was it a return?
I can't imagine it was NIB. (new in box)
