Cleaning underside of awning

What is the best solution to clean the underside of an awning? We are on a seasonal site and the trees drop sticky seeds so when the awning rolls up they stick and stain the white underside.

Here's what I use......accept no substitute. Read label carefully for all the different surfaces.

Make sure to rinse very thoroughly. Can be used to remove black streaks on the outside wall of the RV too. Again.....rinse thoroughly.

I use Tilex but I get everything wet first before I apply.

I just used Thetford awning cleaner to clean mold from the underside of my awning. Was really impressed how white the white stripes are now. And best of all, so was my wife.

Awesome is a great cleaner but be cautious using it on grassed areas. I used it as a degreaser once working in the side yard. I don't know about everyone else's experience with it but it killed the grass in the area I was working with it!

I've had success with Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.

I think my awning is a Dometic and the cleaning instructions for it say to use a mixture of bleach, water and soap (I don't recall the proportions). Spray it on the top, roll up the awning and let it sit for a half hour or so, then unroll and rinse off. It works OK but not for stubborn stains and dirt.

Yep. Might dilute it 50/50. That's what I do when I use it on my awning, black streaks and even on tough spots on the rubber roof. Just make sure you rinse well.

We found a great combo, works on pretty much everything. Powdered Tide with bleach laundry soap. A scoop in a 5 gal bucket of water and a long extension brush; cleans and brightens everything!

Bleach & water

Smart person on here wrote about a mixture of chlorine bleach and water. I used it with a hand sprayer. Spray it on roll up awning, let it set 20 - 30 mins, unrolled and rinse. Looks brand new.

Magic Eraser

I keep a couple of Mr Clean Magic Erasers around for all kinds of cleaning around the RV. I found it works on most of the stains under the awning and doesn't make a mess in the process. Simply wet the sponge, wipe the area to be cleaned and rinse out the sponge when it gets dirty.

I don't know how those things work but they are Magic!

I use a swifter floor cleaner. Just "mop" the underside and outside of the awning as it is rolling in. That takes all the little seeds or dirty off and keeps it clean.
