DVD player

In our 2017 26DBH, we have the furrion DVD player, which has standard video output but no hdmi. Our LG flatscreen does not have the yellow video connector therefore we have no color picture, is there a way to fix this?

when you say standard video output... what is the color of the plug(s) on the back of the player?

do you have the exact model nmuber of the DVD player?

It may be shared with the component input on your tv, look closely at the component inputs and see.

So your tv doesn't even have the red and white for audio? If it does then the green for component is used for the yellow input for video.

I think your only option is to replace the Furrion DVD player, OR just buy a cheap separate DVD player with HDMI output, (which I think they all have these days) and use it to play your DVD's. There is NO adapter that will take Yellow plug out and change to HDMI input.

I have seen many new TV's that no longer have the composite/RCA jacks on them and only have HDMI inputs.

If this is the issue (sounds like it from original post), you can get an RCA to HDMI converter box. I think they require power, but should do the trick. They don't cost much ($15).

Update: This one looks to be powered from USB port. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MD0XHO0?psc=1

BTW: I have one in reverse. OLD TV (No HDMI) and used HDMI to RCA. Works good, image is no longer Digital HDMI, but still nice option.

Since we're on the subject. I would like to share what I have found works great for me. The TV I choose was a "Smart TV". The main reason was it has a USB input. I convert some DVDs, or download videos and use conversion software to format the video for use with the TV (MPEG4). Put about 40 videos on a small USB stick, and you have a nice selection for the kids or yourself. Great for those rainy days and streaming is not an option.

Not exactly...

Component is Red, Green, and Blue, all used for video (RGB), and would still have a Red/White for audio, or the use of digital audio (Fiber optic).

I guess a photo or model of the TV in question would help a lot.

Yea, make sure you have the specified red and white for audio, not the red that is part of the red green blue for component, and then look to see if the green is shared for just video.

It's funny. When the OP is missing just one detail, how it can send us in circles trying to help. Does sound like it has Component since it was mentioned the get "no color", so they get picture but its black and white?

Our DVD player only had composite output and TV only has component and HDMI.

I purchased an open box DVD player from Best Buy with an HDMI output for 35 bucks.

For that price you should look into an open box DVD player with HDMI.

Composite video isn't the greatest quality. Converting composite to HDMI will look like poo.

Yes! We are up at Kohler Andreas, and the yellow plugged into the Green on the tv and it’s a great picture! Thank you all!

The best a DVD player can put out is 480i unless it up samples and it really isn't actually any better...why would composite video really make it any worse since that is the max resolution of composite video?
