First time - camp or "camp"

We are picking up our 2016 slightly used Wolf Pup Saturday (tomorrow) and debating whether to actually camp that night at a campground or boondock at my boyfriend's shop. We are completely green. Any advice would be wildly appreciated.

I'd recommend trying it out at home first to shake the bugs out and figure out what works for you.

I'd say go camping!!! The first time we went camping with our new camper, we treated it like tent camping (in a way). Didn't have water hookups, so bring a case of water, and a gallon jug of water to flush toilet. We still use campground toilets for #2 (sticking with the Rock Star tour bus rule, no #2).
Other then that, go have fun and give it good shake down.

Just have fun... I would camp near tools and supplies the first time or two, but where is the adventure in that?

You won't be boondocking if you run a cord for lights and such...

I would recommend staying at a campground. Other RVers are a great resource if you have questions or need help.

Picked mine up and drove 760 miles for a 2 month stay.

Wonder why some people don't order a camper without a toilet. We have used RV toilets for EVERYTHING they are designed for during 42 years of camping without a problem.

I agree. But resale would suffer without a toilet, as the vast majority use it.

But some people are funny when it comes to bodily fluids.
Some people put used TP, in a container next to the toilet, rather than flush it.
Some don't allow anyone to do #2 in the RV toilet.
Some don't allow #1 or #2 in their toilet.

I don't get it or understand it, but fears are fears.
As someone who worked in nursing and as a firefighter/EMT, I got over handling bodily fluids years ago.

For one night in a state park?

1. Sandwich fixings
2. Sleeping bags
3. Flashlight

Go for it.

(Toilet paper, but only of you don't like the kind in the bath house)

If you don't hook up to water and use everything how are you going to check out the plumbing system? The number one thing you could have a problem with.

X-2. That's one of the main reasons I wanted an RV. I use a lot of Exit ramps, up and down to take a quick stop to usebathroom. You got it. ise it.

Unless its a dire emergency, I will return to the camper from wherever I am to do my business. I love the home court advantage.

When I had a job ~~ I spent days, weeks, months in hotels and know what they are like. If I had to travel that way I'd stay home. I want my own bed, bathroom, and fridge.

We camped in ours the first night in our driveway. Next weekend took to a provincial park and really broke her in[emoji6]. Keep it simple and have fun.

Im sure there will be the day #2 see's that toilet, but so far, it hasn't been an issue. Nothing beats having a toilet in the middle of the night.
